I'm very interested to know what the forum thinks would happen if these two signed for a re-match.
So please start posting and reasons for your outcome.
Thanks.

Weve seen it already and we know that aslong as Marquez concentrates and doesnt get caught napping early , then it will be an easy win for him . I thought he won last time and thats with 3 knockdowns against him . Next time he'll be more aware and will cruise to a UD
jmm won't last 6 rounds against pac now. jmm hasn't been the same since he fought pac...pac makes everyone age faster...pac was very young then...the pac today thinks counters has power both left and right has a great chin great head movement and way too fast handspeed and footwork...pac too much for jmm now speciall at 130 pacs power and speed is fully back and adjusted to pac at 130.and jmm hasn't fought a single round at 130...
jmm is 33 now he won't last 6 rounds with pac...just say what ever yall want to now but as soon as pac and jmm fight again jmm won't have a chance against pac...pac is just too much for anyone...
a one handed PAC drew with Marquez dropping him 3times and almost beat him if not for a judge's mistake. The current version of PAC with a better right and stronger will probably blast JMM out in later rounds.

Disagree,I see it,JMM caught cold in the first round(thus explaining why he wasn't seriously hurt at any other time in the fight) and losing the first roun big but going on to make Manny look crude and amatuerish. JMM won that fight imo and hurt Pacmna at least 3 times. Pacman has improved, that;s for certain and would be a hot favourite in a match but JMM has the counter attacking style to frustrate him.And of all things Manny has learnt,he is still off balance after throwing punches, perfect for counters.Originally Posted by Humble
i found this = Manny Pacquiao would be the WBA/IBF featherweight champion today had judge Burt Clements been aware that he was able to score a round 10-6. Pacquiao recorded three knockdowns against champion Juan Manuel Marquez in the first round Saturday before a frenzied crowd of 7,129 at the MGM Grand. But Clements scored it 10-7 instead of 10-6 as the other two judges did. Judge John Stewart called the bout 115-110 for Pacquiao. Guy Jutras had it 115-110 for Marquez. Clements scored the fight 113-113, making it a draw, but Pacquiao would have won had he scored the first round 10-6.
This is a dream fight for me.The odds on favorite for 2007 FOTY.
A legitimate draw in their first go round. I dont care about problems with the judges scorecards, I find it hard not to justify a draw.
Marquez out boxed Manny bigtime after getting hammered early. Marquez has proven he has the goods to give Manny fits. On the other hand since their last fight, Manny has filled out into a strong 130 lbs., and is no longer the one armed bandit he was in their first fight. Manny went left hand crazy in the first fight.
Those who say Marquez has slipped, I dont see it. He gets a pass from me for the John loss. I heard that John's mom, dad, and sister were the judges for that fight. Face it, trying to get a decision from John on his home court, is like trying to take a pork chop from a wolf.
I just smell a superfight. A hardfought contest with alot of leather being tossed. Sign this fight ASAP!
Who do I pick? Cant say at this point. Its a toss up.![]()

I've been a die hard Pacquiao fan since before the MAB fight, so yes i would consider myself as being biased...Needless to say i felt Pacman deserved a split or Majority decision over JMM..Regargless of my personal opinions of who should've won the fight..there are contriversial decisions almost every damn weekend, and based on the scoring mistake made on the Pac vs JMM fight...Its that simple Pac should've won the decision...
JMM fans or ppl who thought he should've won or deserved the draw can come up with any reasons to justify the decision, same goes for any fight that goes the distance ie TITO vs ODLH...Contraversy is part of the sport, but the one and only REAL mistake during the JMM/PAC fight was the scoring of rd one...>DONE!!!!CASE CLOSED!!!!
JMM was able to turn that fight around simply because Pac was (at the time) a one trick pony with his power left cross...For a masterfull counter puncher like JMM..that's exactly what he needed to win...Manny is no longer that fighter..and he will RUN RIGHT THROUGH JMM to a KO victory within the middle rds...
mark me if you feel the need....
You are the Creator of all that is, all that was, and all there ever will be.....
I think Marquez would have a good shot to beat Manny since he's such a good counterpuncher, but if he tries to bang with Manny like he did Jaca, he might be in for a rude awakening. This is definitely the fight I wanna see, I really have no desire to see Barrera either get knocked out or Barrera lose in a UD because he didn't wanna fight and held all night. This is the fight that needs to happen at 130. In fact, I think that Manny should get a real tuneup (Larios was very game) fight in February or March and that Barrera and Marquez should fight to see who should face Manny in the summer. That would be fair. Most likely knowing ODLH's greedy ass, he'll try to get rich off of Pac fights instead and send Barrera in there first to get KTFO and then let Marquez have his shot. With all that said, Pac UD 12 Marquez.
I think JMM would win a rematch, I thought he won the first also... It's a very exciting match.![]()
I'd pick Pacquaio to win. I thought he slightly won the first one even though JMM won more rounds.
Pacquaio's improved a lot, he used to have virtually no right hook, now he's developed a pretty good one. He's also been going to the body more consistently. Those three knockdowns hurt Pac in a way cause after that he just loaded up with the left hand and was very predictable from that point on. Still won some rounds with just that. While he's improved, I don't think JMM's improved at all, he's still a great fighter but if anything he's regressed slightly as he's gotten older.
excellent points Oumafan !![]()
Pacquiao has improved so much since the Marquez fight and Marquez has pretty much stayed the same and gets hit more often.
Pacquiao is now a more complete fighter and the fact that he was effective against Marquez with the basic jab jab left hand I wouldn't want to imagine what he could do to Marquez now that he has a left hook feints, body combinations and a set up and a counter jab and an improved defense.
Pacquiao is twice the fighter he was then and Marquez is the same fighter with more publicity
Pacquaio would take this fight imo.
