we start with back and biceps for one day, then chest and tris the next day, then shoulders traps and legs the next day (we do medicine ball crunches/jogging at the end of everyday), and then we take a day off. i usually use the punching bag everynight for around 5 minutes or until i get winded. he doesn't believe working biceps/triceps slows me down, so we're still arguing that out.

we do 4 workouts for each muscle except legs, we're just starting that so we only use one machine for it. regularly, we do 4 sets for each workout. the reps are 12, 10, 10, and whatever we have left in us for the last one.

So judging by your rep/set size your training for size. 4x10 is too much. Bring it down to 3x10. your weights will go up slightly quicker and its more economical.
"he" being who? Your coach? Your training partner? Does he box?

he's my friend, no knowledge or experience in boxing really. this is just a basic workout to make someone bigger. i don't really have any other choice, no money for a coach, or gym, or trainer. i have good faith he knows what he's doing when it comes to his workout. just wish it was a boxers workout.

He may know his stuff, although it sounds like he needs to do some reasearch. To get bigger, yes, a split routine is best. One day back and biceps etc.
But you seem to be asking to different things. Your on about your friend, "will this make me slower?" etc, we give you advise, yet you dont listen, it depends what you want more.
To be a good boxer, or to be big, that is totally up to you.
