Default Now America rewrites World War one history.......

Just watched the new American warfilm Flyboys.

Not content with revising history to make America the sole allied participant in the second world war they are now busy stamping their flag all over world war 1.

I didn't know this but apparently it was all American pilots who actually flew the French planes during world war 1.

Not only that but they even had black americans flying up there.

Hollywood tends to take a good story and make it as much about America as they can. Dont worry it wont be long before we tend the Crusades into the "Crusades for America".

We love a good All American movie!!

What I'm really waiting for is a good old western where the Americans portay themselves as heroically defending the native American Indians against the cruel attacks from the Americans.

Sounds implausible but they will no doubt find a way, perhaps turn the original American settlers into English warmongers and have the good old American people living side by side in peaceful harmony with the cherokee :P

The really sad part is that there will be kids and teenagers that will see these movies and believe that that is how everything actually happened.

It WAS true, but for some reason William Wallace was depicted as half -Scottish/ half-Australian

This is totally incorrect, because as far as I have been taught, William Wallace a descendant of the American conquered Australia, living in Texas as a relief worker helping the Natives with their fight against the might of the Canadians

Incidentally he only moved to the British Isle when his younger Brother Rod signed for Glasgow Rangers.

Unhappy with the influx of non-Ameriacan footballers, plying their trade on Scottish soil, refusing to refer to the great sport as Soccer, William decided to take action.

    The rest is history

Apparantly there's also a wave of revisionist thought that wants to highlight the nastier side of William Wallace. It is alleged that he was deeply anti semitic and used to catapault flaming Jews over the Forth of Firth toward the English lines.

The English were rightly absolutely appalled by this sickening behaviour because Edward Longshanks had spent a great deal of time and effort in kicking out all the Jews and drowning them off the coast of Dover.
