Julio Cesar Chavez is my pick. He fought everybody.

    Roger Mayweather
    Meldric Taylor
    Pernell Whitaker
    Oscar de la Hoya
    Hector Camacho
    Kostya Tszyu

no he didn't beat them all, but he fought them all

    108-6-2 (87 KOs)
    in a 25 year career.

In his prime he wasn't the best at anything, but he was really good at everything.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

    Really not sure:

Pryor probabaly goes down as the greatest Light Welter by virtue of the fact that that's where his career was. I would have JCC ahead of them all in an all time p4p list - but then I think about Whitaker 'beating' him. I still don't know how good PBF is and I think Tszyu is a bit overrated.

    Hope this answers your question

its tough one id certainly have chavez pryor and whitaker at top 3 chavez can be outboxed though remember meldrick taylor vs chavez and of course pernell whitaker vs chavez and pryor has excellent workrate and if someone was too strong for him on inside he could box aka arguello vs pryor 1

whitaker and pryor are prolly my top 2 would whitaker be able to withstand the relentless assault of pryor would pryor be able to catch whitaker with anything ??

In terms of, who would beat all others at 140... Id say Whittaker, followed by Benetiz, Pryor, then Chavez... I know he never fought at 140 but I think Shane Mosley could have potentially beaten anyone on the list at his best. Also if Floyd was on your list I would have him at 2nd or 3rd.

    Whittaker
    Mosley/Floyd
    Benitez
    Pryor

    MY top 5.
Chavez has a great record/legacy, probably had the most signifigant reign at 140, but I don't think he would have beaten one of those fighters at their best.

    Easily Chavez
Look at his stats and the Wars he had time and time again.
Mexicans/Hispanics never fail to amaze me because they just never seem to get punch drunk
    Warrior number ONE imo.

I find it hard to see anyone beating a prime Pryor at his best. The guy was an absolute aminal. Could walk though anybody. His candle didnt burn long, and I'd rate several on list higher due to longevity, but Pryor was just flat out brutal.
A brilliant technician and good puncher like Arguello got steamrolled by Pryor twice. Pryor was ducked like crazy. Greats like Leonard and Hearns wanted nothing to do with him.

You know I really never thought much about that... But it's a very good point. I have a hard time thinking of one instance where a good Mexican fighter was badly hurt or wobbled, they always seem to take punishment incredibly well. I wouldn't have Chavez at no.1 on a p4p basis, but he probably does have the best resume strictly at 140 pounds.. He beat some good fighters like TAylor and Frankie Randall while champ at 140, and has quite a few defences...Pryor campaigned their for most of his career but the only meaningful name on his record is ARguello who was not a 140 lb fighter at all. Whittaker would have beaten everyone on the list though imo.

Arguello twice but sadly (imo) he never got in with the real elite fighters of his era to be really tested.
Not saying it's his fault but it begs the question...What if?
