Without any question (to me) it's Ruiz. he is the worst I have ever seen and a bit of a disgrace really. Personally, while nobody could question his heart, I also thought Primo Carnera was the worst in terms of pure skills.

Douglas was fantastic against Tyson, Hart was a tough bugger who could fight a bit, McCall was a nutter but he was strong and could punch (like Rahman). Bruno was always well conditioned and could really hit, at least he came to fight. Dokes was a good fighter waiting to happen who got ruined by crack, as was Spinks.

That said, even Ruiz is brave enough to get into a ring and risk humiliation and injury and I do find it hard sometimes to slag off the gladiators within the sport I love, especially those who have risen to the top of the tree

I think it depends on whether you saying worst overall during career.
Worst on their worst night. worst on thier best night
Or worst during the time including the night they won the belt.
Any fighter could be great at one time and then stink later on due to age lack of desire drugs etc. SO i will choose ,worst when they won (not fought for and lost) the title and during championship rein and title defenses inc. the ones they lost. Hows that with everyone??

Buster Douglas awesome unbelievable fight vs tyson huge upset (+10)but the defense was a stinker and he showed up like a tub of goo (-10)so i say he breaks even on the two (0)

Hasim Rahman win was a flash knockdown in a fight he was losing. (+5) defense was a schooling and a spanking (- total -3

Frank Bruno beat Mcall who was a nutbar over 12 rounds (+5) then destroted by tyson ko (- total -3

John Ruiz bunch of wins and defenses stunk out the joint in every fight the guy is putrid! every fight is a long night of plodding holding clutching and yawning total score -9 winner of worst champion of all time. and may i nominate him for most hated for his style and fighter who ruined the most big fights of all time award as well??

Oliver McCall lets be fair. beat lewis with flash decent ko in the second then a good defense agains holmes over 12 rounds then beaten by bruno over 12

I always thought Rahman was a pretty decent boxer for a HW. If he were larger I think he would have been really good. Hell the Rahman/Maskeav fight wasn't that bad.

Last time this was a topic (I had not been a board member for very long) I voted for Dokes and Akinwande.

Some folks said Akinwande was a poor choice, but I'll say his name again and again in 6 months to year.
