I felt bad for the ukranian, it was a reasonably close fight but I certainly felt he did enough to take it. Hometown decisons suck; am I right in thinking the three judges were all floridian also - how can that be fair / credible?

I was impressed by the ukranians robustness, just to look at them you would think the bigger Lacy's shots would be dominant but our eastern chum was very resiliant.

That was only the 2nd Lacy fight ive seen, so im not sure if its a particular style issue, or if he has no defence in general and is beginning to be found out against high grade opposition?!?

Jeff was eating way to many punches and his defense looked leakier than it ever has and his stamina was seemingly at an alltime low too... I say gutted because contrary to most peoples popular belief when it comes down to it Jeff Lacy is my #1 favorite fighter followed closely by Floyd Mayweather..

I have been Following Jeff now since about 2002-2003 before he became champion and mainstream and I can proudly say that I wasn't part of the Hype and Media wave that vaulted him to superstardom so from a sentimental standpoint yes Following Jeff's career has been special to me as a fan....The Jeff that fought last night wasn't the same Jeff we are all accustomed to seeing... Jeff just barely squeaked out a win last nite against a game opponent if Jeff wasn't in Florida the fight could have easily gone the other way..

I am not ready to call Jeff "shot" just yet....I did ask myself a few questions and possibilities this morning after I had time to digest all of this..

    1) Would Tyspko have given Lacy trouble pre Calzaghe, is Tyspko just a stylistic nightmare for Jeff

    2) How much of this performance can be related to ring rust??

    3) Why was Jeff lacking the explosive energy and stamina he usually carries, was it because of the long layoff??

4)There is no doubt Jeff is lacking his usual confidence and swagger...

    5) Is it time to sever ties with Dan Birmingham, what could Emanuel Steward or Freddy Roach do for Jeff's career if anything..

I am not ready to throw dirt on Jeff and his career and read him his last rites but his situation is in critical condition IMO and the next 5-6 months are very crucial to see if he can make definitive steps forward to jump start and ressisate his career.
    1, Yes he would have.
2, None. There was no ring rust from rounds 1 to 3.
3, Maybe his power was also overrated. And he's never had great stamina
4, I think he realizes that he is not as good as people lead him to beleive
5, Doesn't really matter. Lacy is in his late 20's. He can change things for a round or two. But he'll always revert back to form.

Anyway take your first cc for Quartey-Wright

Valid points......Like I stated I think the next few months are crucial for him....Who the Hell is he gonna fight next??

I was thinking they might make the Allen Green match.. Problem is I am pretty sure Green hits harder than Tyspko and if Green hit Jeff the same way Tyspko did, Jeff will be counting ceiling tiles....Green has a suspect chin though so I guess we can say Vice Versa Tyspko did absorb some punishment from Jeff as well... Anyway for the bet 6 more to go...

Violent you realize were all tied up here for bets.... I thinks we need a Trilogy here

The fight me and my mates watched involved Tyspko getting robbed
Lacy's body language said it all and he knew deep down he was gifted a victory.
