There are many fighters I dislike, some that I don't think are very good (and some who I don't like just because of their poster fans on this site (!), but I would not think of them as cowards.

The day that I would personally feel no fear stepping into a ring with an unbeaten, hyped, musclebound undefeated world champion and top-class amateur like Jeff Lacy is the day I am qualified to call Joe Calzaghe a coward.

Shame on you all. This is not what fans do. By demeaning our fighters, we demean our own sport.
No shame on you. It's posters like you who always go back to same excuse when you run out of excuses to defend your fighters cowardliness. Every fighter gets credit for stepping in the ring. That goes without saying. Once there in the ring there suppose to face the best and try to make the most money possible for themselves. Kessler is consider the biggest rival in Calzaghe's division. 3.4 million would be the most Calzaghe's ever made. He doesn't want the fight. Why? Cuz Kessler is not shot like most of the known names on Calzaghe's record? Is it cuz he's not some obscure scrub like a lot of the names on Joe's record? Or is it cuz he's scared? I say he's scared. And yes I did sc your a**.
No way VD - you're usually quite funny, but you've got this one wrong. I do not go back to any excuse to defend anyone - you will not find me anywhere claiming Calzaghe is the best thing since Roy Jones. I just disagree with people talking tough and calling any fighter a coward. I will criticise a fighter's style, record and everything, but I wouldn't presume to call him a coward.

That's not very tough talk really, to sit on a computer somewhere, posting anonymously on a website, calling any internationally recognised combat sportsman a coward?

Boxing history is full of dream matchups that never happened, that does not make people cowards.

Perhaps you find it cathartic to spout stuff on here, like you seem to have been doing recently. What happened to the VD who was funny and knowledgeable?

You naughty man

And, no, I didn't sc you because I am clearly a saint.
My my, what a lovely colourfull discussion we have going on here tonight!

Calzaghe (to my knowledge) is the greatest Welsh export next to the great man himself...
Mr.Tom Jones

(who is firmly number one one reason and one reason only.........)

.... Anyway, with that cleared up, im glad X made his comments.

I personally, have a very hard time liking Calzaghe, however i could never call him a coward.

Calzaghe obviously wants to close his career in the U.S on HBO in front of millions of viewers. I am one who would love to debate this move, but as ive just said... I would never call him a coward.

Thats just outright ignorance.
