Seriously though...you can't write a man off after one loss...he got in with Calzaghe & Joe showed up more motivated than ever as he was figthing before the world & made a statement!

As for Lacy I think he is still #2 to Calzaghe, but you have to put Kessler in front of him because he has the '0' and no humilation... but I suspect Kessler might even struggle with Beyer, let alone Lacy or Calzaghe.

It means i for one would have to eat a serious amount of humble pie. It would mean that Kessler is NOT what some of us thinks he is.

Come on, Lacy is still young and he can now use a couple of fights to work on his fundamentals. If Birmingham improves his defense and helps Lacy DEVELOP A F****** JAB then Lacy can turn it around. Lacy has to know that following someone around the ring without doing anything a la Corrales -Mayweather & Trinidad - Hopkins hoping to land a big shot won't work against the top class in the division. He has to change his style a bit if he wants to be successful against great competition. Lacy is still Top 5 in the division though. You people are hugging JoeCals nuts so hard, it must be hard for him to breath.

Lacy is not young in the sense of boxing - he had more fights than Kessler + Calzaghe together pro and amateur. He also had more than twice the number of defeats then Kessler and Calzaghe put togheter . If Lacy is young then Kessler is a spring chicken

Well, I guess that I did already change my "official" view by stating, that I like Lacy (actually, I liked the guy from the very start (due to his style) just extremely tired with his nut-huggers, who would not take his amateur career and poor pro competition into the equation, when they celebrated him as the p4p #1), and I would very welcome a brave guy like him back into the division. SMW needs a good American guy as it also brings the market into SMW. IMO Lacy would be great to restart smw at the American market, but still I do not think that he is better than sub-top, but I guess that is a fair statement.

One month ago I was blamed as a hater when I stated over and over again, that Lacy would not stand a chance against Calzaghe.

Syd had beaten Ring mags fighter of the year glen johnson who we all know how tough he is ....Lacy got beat by a natural fighter ..some fighters can feel a punch coming b4 the oponents shoulder even flexes and as a south paw this is much more easy to do cause ur jab is set to parry the other mans jab and move away from that right hand ....i know cause as a child boxing southaw was easier for me but i relized i'm gonna need my strong right someday ....ANYWAY no shame in making millions losing to a undefeated veteran southpaw lol u feel me?
