Default Amir Khan's so called "flash knockdown..."

Having finally seen the fight and the supposed "flash knockdown" I fail to see how that should have been scored a knockdown...

He may have a suspect chin but I just didn't see it in this fight...Anyhow, here is the clip. Happens in the 7th round at the 2:00 mark...Can anyone tell me exactly what punch it was that cause the flashknock down? After seeing it a few times, it seems he was just barely glazed on the side of his cheek and his footing got caught in the ropes. He didn't look hurt AT ALL...he came back pretty hard actually and the French guy was on the defensive before the ref broke it up...Is it just me or am I missing something here

I cant see the clip right now, ill look again tomorrow but when watching the fight it looked as though his footing was a bit dodgy at the time and although it didnt take much to topple him it was a punch that sent him over, didnt look like anything too powerful though.

Khan's wide stance is gonna cost him at the upper level.

Not a real knock down. But with that fighting style of his, he'll experience one soon enough

But with Frank Warren he'll be moving along slllllllooooooooow....I hope he does well though...I look forward to him and JC Jr. having a big fight

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Everybody is making it like this kid took a beating.

Out of what I saw, I was IMPRESSED! And I'm usually difficult on up and commers like Andre Berto (Too much in love with his power, "He takes a picture" as Teddy Atlas would say).

That was a dubious knockdown....Khan is making decent development. He is very young and has a lot of time to work on those flaws. Too early to judge him...

Amir is a good boxer but i think he needs to improve alot, mainly in the defence. Im not sure if he did catch his foot in ropes, sure it was through the rope but when he fell he just fell back from the top. You can see this from the overhead camera.

I agree with you all - it was only a glancing blow, he was off balance, he got his foot caought in the rope etc etc

But at the end of it all, if you watch the clip, a 'legitimate' punch was landed and he DID touch the canvas with his hand. Them's the rules, boys.

Can you imagine the shit he would have taken if the referee had NOT awarded a knockdown -'Khan needs the ref's help', 'hometown refereeing', 'He'll get pasted in the States when the ref is straight' etc etc Maybe it's better this way.

Everyone gets knocked over, at least now it won't be such a big deal next time and he will also have the experience of having been there before (however dubiously)

Amirs chin I dont think is guna be a problem . Weve seen him hurt and down already but like Nas he's the type of boxer who will get up fighting . As long as he has the speed and reflexes to get out of the way of punches it wont effect him .
