Default Toughest fight for Rafael Marquez if he moves up to 122?

I don't even know if he's moving up, it seems like he would after awhile but then again he and his brother both seem hesitant about moving up. Its odd, there's really no great reason for JMM to be at 126, and 122 would have more big fights for Marquez than 118 unless some of the 115 pounders start moving up.

But just assuming he does, who would be the toughest fight. I think he'd school Ponce, and KO Gonzalez, the two toughest IMO would be Caballero and Vazquez.

Is Caballero moving up? Haven't heard anything about that in a while

i couldnt see him schooling De Leon. He is at the stage of his career where people would say he is hitting his prime. Daniel is the man. I think he beats all of the fighters but Daniel would give him a good fight. Good topic this bro cc for you.

CC. I guess I just don't think as highly of Ponce as you do, but he is strong and rough. He would just have to make it a physical fight and just rough Rafa up.

I wish he would go ahead and move up, the big fights are at 122.

Yer bro, there is pretty much nothing for him 118. He would beast every1, he did the job on Mabuza and he was the only threat at that time. He is 31 and he is getting on. The thing with the 122 is that all the fighters are hitting their primes and we can see that with Vazquez, De Leon, molitor gonzalez etc. Rm needs to get at 122 and show every1 he is a p4p top 10 fighter. If he brushed up all the other GREAT! mexicans he would be rememberd as one hell of a fighter.

I have not seen enough of Caballaro but I have seen clips of his fight with Ponce and he gave Danole a beat down! However,Daniel showed true heart in winning the 12th round after losing most of the others and being dropped. As for Rafa,I'm pretty sure he is moving up and if he does,I'd agree,I think Vazquez would be areal tough fight and a possible classic!

Caballaro is a handful for anyone because of his physical attributes BUT he has lost like 3 times, can anyone fill me in on those losses? I want to see him get KTFO!!

As for Ponce,Rafa is so much more polished but Daniel's awkwardness is his strength,he throws punches from angles you just CANNOT see coming! And he has a decent right hand, heart and is rough as hell so a tough fight for anyone but if Rafa carries his power up,I can see beating all 3 of them. And if he did beat all 3,that would be some legacy he would be leaving! He needs to hurry the fuck up though like JMMawhat are they waiting for? the 2 most talented brothers in boxing history yet 2 of the most unfulfilled potentials too. I mean these guys should be high up on P4P lists and much more well known than they are!

I voted too good for all of them....
I just don't see any of them beating him.... His skills are above & beyond...

If I had to choose one, the phenomenon of Celestino who's body figure/reach/height makes him a tough and IMO the thoughest opponent for Marquez especially if your moving up in weight into new territory...

yeah, I probably wouldn't favor any of them over him. I think Vazquez might have a shot to wear him down late, but Marquez would make him look bad for the majority of the fight. I just think he's too slick for Ponce. I think Gonzalez could give him some problems with his reach and boxing ability but I don't think Jhonny's sturdy enough to take Rafael's power. Caballero's a freak of nature but I'd still favor Marquez.

You are right. Israel Vasquez was a tough SOB. He proved it against Jhonny Gonzales. And I also think Rafa will just take him to school but we can never tell when a guy possess enough power to KO his opponent.

Hes pretty skilled I've only seen him fight twice....
Caballero has grown/developed since then in a re-match Caballero would blow him out fast....

Gotta agree with you here mate. A very underappreciated boxer is Marquez as is his brother.
