He beat Briggs because Briggs was a fatso who hadn't hit bottom yet. Even now Briggs is doing himself a disservice by being too big. You're trying to convince me this is a legit fight based on fighters who beat fighters--ALL THOSE GUYS AREN'T IN THE RING. Clifford Etienne has been a bum for years. Monte Barret won against a Dominick Guinn who USED to have promise.

Nikolai Valuev is the champion NOW. The time is NOW for a CHAMPION to be fighting top ten fighters, not wowing us with his size. Champions should only be fighting elites or other champions. Klitschko is fighting again in March; that could have easily been Valuev in the ring with him. Fighting McCline will prove NOTHING on the road to a Klitschko. Other than height they are absolutely nothing alike. Don King is afraid of losing his champion.
You will be hard pressed to find any elite fighters at HW in this era . these guys are babyshit green talent wise. today’s HW's wouldn’t know a combination punch from a hole in the ground . Nobody stays in the pocket and fire back, the majority of fighters in the HW division today are tentative and unsure of themselves. The old guys hanging around are the only thing that makes this division half way interesting.

Kind of reminds me of the movie business. , Hollywood is trying to replace good acting with special effects and bullshit. What they don’t realize is the storyline is still shit..
Valueve is just a special effect. no substance , no real skills and talent. Just super tall and awkward as hell, that doesn’t make up for talent and skills . If Valuve came along back in the early 90’s , he would have gotten the Mike White treatment. And if Mike White fought in today’s heavyweight era he would probably be undefeated and carrying around that Belt Valuev has. A crying shame this fucking division
