Well first off being inducted into the HOF is based on what a fighter has brought to the game....Many people are under the illusion that to be inducted you have to be a P4P great or hold wins against nothing but P4P opposition.....
Arturo Gatti---Has been on the losing end of most of his big opportunies...he was destroyed by DLH and PBF..but is a 2 time world champion and has been involved in some of the sports most exciting fights ever win or lose....this guy is a poster boy of what heart is all about I wish more fighters had his heart....Gatti has given us great memories and has left everything in the ring time and again he is a shoe in
Danny Lopez-- For a while he helped keep the little guys on the map especially during those times the HW division and Middleweights ruled the sport...why the comeback attempt in 1992? money maybe....but Danny is P4P all the way....he was only truly dominated by Sanchez...a guy who at 23 was already a legend
Virgil Hill---A guy we forget about because he was always low key but got the job done...I think he hold the record for most LHW title defenses...Multi time world champion and only lost to the top tier...like Ted said has fought a ton of world champions at the time current or past....Was always a true gentleman and never gave the sport a bad name too bad more guys don't follow his code of conduct...another shoe in
Ray Mancini--This is a toss up...Yeah he had a few personal moments that made the public love him and the Kim tragedy but really Ray was never that good and his title reign a very forgetable one..His actual biggest fight was against Camacho one in which he lost...If Kim did not die that night no one would even remember it...Ray would only be worthy as a sentimental favorite his achievements were few and his memorable moments even fewer
Vinnie Paz--Another guy who was exciting fought a lot of champions...not a very good boxer though...IMO he is like Gatti a lot of heart and left it all in the ring...One difference...VINNY HAD NO CLASS!!!!!...He was foul mouthed and disrespectful...if he could not beat you or lost to you he could never give a guy the credit deserved...the guy was always some kind of M***** F**** or A@@ H@@@....no sportsman what so ever....Gatti was always a gracious loser that is what makes you a true champion...how tyou handle the ups and downs...for his in ring accomplishments Vinny should go...IMO his out of the ring attitude should keep him out
Earnie Shavers---He could hitBeat Norton??...went the distance with Ali...Beat Ellis....earnies was a good contender in a time of great HW boxing...why he fought into the 90's??..again maybe money...His chin was soft though... VERY soft.....IMO maybe in the non champions catagory if so he just squeeks in only because he fought in the golden era of HW boxing other than that what did he ever really do?...I mean shit Jimmy Thunder could hit you gonna nominate him?
