I havent seen much of Zertuche, anybody know anything about him? ranked 19th I guess

Why in the phuk is Kelly even fighting this guy? Alias is El Elotero. Rough translation? Some one who sells corn on the cob. Sort of like el Paletero would be the ice cream man.
What a phuking joke. 33 years old and aint no one ever heard of him. When is the ghost going to fight some one who still has a pulse?
KELLY “The Ghost” PAVLIK (29-0, 26 KOs)…
Ranked WBC #2, WBA #4, WBO #5, IBF #10 at 160 pounds…
I like the kid he looks pretty solid but he has not been tested. Top Rank is really fluffing up Kelly's record. Only noticeable win was over an OLD Bronco McKart and that ain't really saying much.
I wish Pavlik would fight somebody better as I will be attending this event live. But Pavlik is not the main reason I\'m going. It\'s Jorge Arce. I\'ll be seating in Section: 102 Row: 3. I\'m hoping some of the people that live in Los Angeles would attend. CutMeMick, Violent D, TheBESTP4P. I would like the chance to meet them
The wicked shall die by there own wickedness.
Zertuche's probably Pavlik's toughest fight so far. Zertuche's pretty solid but that's also a pretty good sign of how soft Pavlik's been brought up, cause Zertuche's not that good.
He's got decent skills, some power, pretty sturdy, and not way past it like Bronco. I thought he got jobbed both times he fought Zuniga. His stamina is a bit iffy though. Pavlik will probably win by late stoppage and then hopefully really step up.
You guys wanna know why Pavliks fightting Zertuche?
Cause Zertuche will be there righ in front of Pavlik to be hit and make Pavlik look good.....
I agree, Pavliks quality of opposition is just ridiculous but I will say this he'll receive a rude awakening once he steps up in class.
*By the way I won't be attending this event.
This is what I have been saying for a long time.
I mean there are plenty of champions with many less fights than Pavlik already has.
What is this guy waiting for? He has not even stepped anywhere close to a true top 10 contender.
I agree he will get destroyed when he does, but shit man, this is getting ridiculous already. STEP IT UP BUDDY!!!
To clarify the reason for Zertuche.
Kelly is ranked #2 by the WBC and HBO wanted a ranked fighter for an opponent. If you look at the WBC's Middleweight rankings Zertuche is ranked #8. Many of the other "ranked" middies either had just fought or have fights scheduled and would not be available for the January 27th date.
Sturm had just fought Tapp and will fight Carrera, instead of facing Pavlik, which is a no brainer
Miranda had just fought (this would be a good match-up)
Winky just fought and had an opportunity to take the fight before and felt high risk low reward
Soliman is fighting Mundine
Abraham unavailable
John Duddy would show nothing better than Zertuche will
Sergio Mora a joke
Ike Quartey just fought and backed out of a fight with Pavlik this past year to fight Verno Phillips
So WHO exactly would you wizards have him fight? On his opponents, like many other fighters that have potential, as they are brought up slow and against opponents that they should beat. Look at Mirandas opponents during his time prior to his 2 biggest fights against Eastman and Abraham, 25 fights opponents combine record of 100-131, with 4 fighters being their 1st fight, 13 fighters with ZERO or ONE win and this is not padded
? Kelly has not just beat his opponents he has annihilated them. Comparing Pavlik's opponents to Miranda's, who many of you are saying is the next coming, seems like Pavlik has fought the better comp, except Eastman and Abraham. Kelly has never been in trouble in any of his fights and has totally destroyed his opponents, watch the video I posted of his KO's, he can KO with both hands not just his right.
Remember Pantera, Pavlik fought Pierre who was beating Willie Gibbs on all judges scorecards before being KO'd in the 12th round. I remember you dogging Pavlik for fighting Pierre, but your boy fought a guy that was getting beat by him over 12 rounds.
Pavlik will show himself soon enough, I would not be surprised if he gets a mandatory shot against Taylor from the WBC after Pavlik KO's the WBC's #8 ranked middleweight in Zertuche.
One last thing concerning soft opponents, using Miranda as a comparison, Miranda fought only 9 fighters out of 28 that had winning records, with 4 of them being in his last 4 fights, with Pavlik having fought 20 out of 29 opponents with winning records.
Just an interesting comparison between 2 young middleweights that can punch and have potential.
Everyone should also realize that Pavlik is only 24 years old.
As if Pavliks people or even Pavlik himself would want to fight the people you listed.... Please!!!Originally Posted by huntin_itai

They do to me.Originally Posted by CutMeMicK
I'd say that Pavlik beats Inkin & Green...but Green would be a fight.
Andrade would go 12 rounds & it'd be close because he can box fairly well & the fact that he's super might be a factor too.
Same goes for Bute. I honestly think that Bute'd knock Pavlik's ass out.
I wanna see Duddy vs Pavlik.
That would be a fight.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
The point I was trying to make was that theres other fighters out there that Pavlik could HAVE fought instead of Zertuche. Huntin_tai is making it seem like Zertuche was the ONLY name out there.Originally Posted by wacko3205

Agreed...on Duddy atleast...I aint sold on him one bit. Don't get me wrong...Pavlik's no world beater...but he's a good boxer & he's definently proven to be entertaining...but I'm with Mick...he needs to step the fwock up.Originally Posted by OumaFan

Miranda's record was padded, he needed to step up and he did. Saying Pavlik's competition is better than Miranda's except for Abraham and Eastman is like saying Pavlik's competition is better than Taylor's except for Hopkins and Wright. Now, Hopkins and Wright are better than Abraham and Eastman, but either way, Miranda's opposition is much better than Pavlik's because of those two. Miranda's stepped up, Pavlik hasn't, hopefully after this fight he will.Originally Posted by huntin_itai
As far as the Gibbs fight, I've been saying Miranda's win there was overrated. Gibbs was brought in to make Miranda look spectacular cause Gibbs is chinny and there to be hit. But either way the fact is Gibbs did beat Pierre whether he was losing the fight or not.

Pavlik definitely has to step up, but still think he's better than Duddy.
I gotcha' , didn't mean to come across that way. If it means anything I'm willing to go on your next 'shriping' trip.Originally Posted by wacko3205
