Do you want a justification why I think MAB is at number 4 for example?

Ok...if you want reason behind each,I'll do it later but for now

    1. Pacman- Stopping a hall of famer for the first time in his career ESPECIALLY after getting his ass beaten in the first fight topped it for me. Larios is also a dangerou dangerous fighter too and Manny won with ease and has shown improvement in all 3 fights.

    2. PBF-won WW title of the world, beat Judah too, decent accomplishments for the year but I don't rate either Baldo or Zab as fighters for a reason. Will probably go back to 1 if he beats Oscar although if Manny beats either JMM or MAB,he'll stay at 1.

3.Winky-should have got the W over Taylor but was lazy in the last round. Win over Ike was good but expected, want to see rematch with JT next year. What else is there?

    4. MAB-legendary career, winding down now, needs to take on Manny/JMM. 2 wions over Jaurez were good, adding another name to the resume although the first fight was much closer than it should hav been

    5. Rafa Marquez- has beaten lots of top 10 rated fighters and win over Mabuza was excellent again, dominated the second best in the division.Needs the move up though to maintain momentum.

    6. Jose lUis Castillo-Difficult one but so many great names on the resume and gave PBF his toughest fight, most thinking he had won. If he beats Hatton,he'll SHOOOOOOT higher on my list because I don't think he can win,age will surely catch up not to mention all those wars!?!

    7. Jermain Taylor- drew tih Winky, should have lost but hey...beat Ouma but not as well as I thought he would...not sold on him and I HAVE been willing to give him a chance. I'm just not impressed, have not seen any improvement since he's been wiht Steward...

    8. Calzaghe- gave THE DEFINITIVE boxing performance of the year v Lacy,a fight MANY thought he would lose. Still....needs bigger fights than Bika and Manfredo,JT next year would be awesome.

    9. Hatton- good fighter and whether anyone likes it or not,he beat Collazo on points which is another good name on the list although he did not look good doing it...needs to pick it up in 2007 or risk losing his place although if he beats Castillo like I think he will,he'll move up toooo.....

10.Israel Vazquez- some excellent performances this year topped off by the EXCELLENT win over Jhonny G. Showed great heart and determination in the fight and may fight Rafa Marquez,AGAIN,will definitely move up if he looks good.

    Close to P4P= Cotto, Arce,,Calderon,JMM.

I know JLC is contraversial BUT he is a great fighter with ALOT of names on his resume.
I think your list is pretty well rounded...but I don't really see Castillo in there...but that's just me.

I really really think that Cotto should be on the bill due to the fact that he's still running undefeated even on the move up.

You know I looooove Cotto but compared to the guys on the list, all of whom have at least 1 super name that stands out,Cotto does not have that...yet.....if he beats Tony next year and another good name,he'll be super high in the list.

Why don't you see JLC there though, becaue of the weight stuff? Look past that,he has a great resume....

Agreed there. Good point...but I still rank him based on his accomplishments & the fact that he's undefeated.

I used to rank Castillo. Used to think that he was a great fighter...but he seems to be slipping to me & there are much better men out there, with much better opposition, with much better performances, & much more deserving.

Very surprised that you don't have Juan Manuel in there...other than the Chris John farce of a decision...he's been dead on the money.

    1) PBF
    2) Winky
    3)Pacman
4)Taylor - beat b-hop twice + draw with winky which makes him close to wright
5)Barrera - back at 5 with dominating performance vs juarez
    6) Hopkins- hes back right? , well I felt it coming, he is still p4p we can all agree on that
    7) R.Marquez- well this guy can be even higher but only if he faces some tougher opposition
    Hatton
    9) Calzaghe
    10) Cotto
just missed out-- Arce, Catillo, Pongswelak,

    I have it,

    #1 pac
    #2 winky
    #3 j.t
    #4 bhop
    #5 mab
    #6 jmm
    #7 hatton
    #8 pbf
    #9 cotto
    #10 joe.c

mine is about level of oppenents, and how they win like no other against the level of there oppenents. notice 7-10 are all undefeated, I have hatton rank highest beause he beat koysta like no other fighter, pbf with talent but lack hunger to finish huge, I have joe.C last because it maybe too late for him to ever past anyone else on the list...I think cotto can rise up he continues his wins against undefeated fighters, I think its possible for him to end hatton or pbf too...or it can be hatton or pbf that ends the others undefeated record...but out of the three I believe cotto has the most balls and hunger to get in with anyone without hesitation...so I like him more...

I have jmm and mab very close at five and six...I have bhop up there because I hear his unretire and he has just whoop lightheavy king tarver, plus if I still have mab up there I gotta put up bhop, mab did lose worst but bhop lost only close fights.

I got j.t following winky because j.t has those two close wins against the executioner bhop and a draw with winky that could of gone either way.

I have winky second because he spanked tito, and out gun mosley twice plus a draw with j.t.

I got the pacman king because he has the most hunger to prove greatness, and has k.oed both mexican legends mab and em(twice), also gave hell to a masterfull boxer jmm...flaws or no flaws you still got to go through hell to have a chance at winning against mercyless manny. I can't remember the last oppenent he didn't drop plus he keeps improving his arsenals.

4.Marco Antonio Barrera (IMO belongs in top 3 but the people have spoken)
5.Bernard Hopkins (beating Tarver just floats my boat man, lets see do Maskaev)
6.Miguel Cotto (Moving up in weight so well makes him p4p material)
    7. Rafael Marquez (Purely on his skill, makes weight jumping look lie bouncing on a trampoline)
    8. Joe Calzaghe (purely because I think his skills can move through to 175, and if they shrank him he'd be dominant in the lower weight classes, a pure p4p pick)
    9. JMM (Proven to be able to cope in other weight classes, as well rounded and skilled as they come, and also as underated as they come. Beaten by Chris John, but only cos it was JMM v the world, the judges, politics, even the no.1 p4p can't match that.
    10. Ricky Hatton. Ok, his first showing as a welter was undewehlming, bt Collazo may turn out to be a genuine world class performer, plus without the time, and growth to be a proper welter, he may have been out of his depth, I have no doubt in my mind Hatton can be the best welter on the planet, maybe more, give him time and patince, and afetr beating castillo, he will destroy all welterweights, one by one and be no.1 pound for pund! (Ok, got a little carried away there, but i believe he is the modern day roberto duran, with a jab.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

    Nice.

Here's the thing that I've been wrestling with...can we rank Hopkins if he's retired one day...& not the next?

I mean...believe you me...if we can all agree on it...Hopkins would be my #4 or #5...but can we place him when he's neither in nor out...but still in?

    Get me pwoint?
