I have asked Koreans before if they eat cat and dog and they have alway's been offended by that, if there are dog farms they had them very well when they are over here.
The Koreans get offended because they feel their culture comes under attack from foreigners about the whole dog eating thing. Prior to the Seoul olympics of '88 there was a widespread campaign from animal rights activists to stop the games going there. And there are special farms here where the dog comes from. They only use some specially farmed breed of dog for the meat, but I have no idea what type of dog goes in there!
