He wasn't drunk at the time, but he was very out of shape as he was drinking alot at the time, I'm not sure how to post it as I have it on VHS.

By the way - the whole quitting thing - I think we all have clarity on that now, Duran said " he doesn't want to fight with this clown" as leonard was more interesting in dancing rather than fighting and Duran said I gave him a rematch straight away so should he, but we all know that leonard and his team refused to give Duran a rematch - they waited 9 fooking years!

But I agree with BIG H Duran is in the TOP 5 greatest fighters EVER!

Iwas in charge of the sparring Duran had already sparred before, it wasnt a clinic by any means but ben tried to dominate but it wasnt happening. To Duran it was another day at the office. Makes you wonder how good he could have been if Hed lived the life, beside the whiskey he was having3 bottles of champers a day fuckin incredible and to top it all was a great guy to be around very warm. and to think how long his career was incredible.
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

Also there is nothing Hatton has done that would lead me to believe he would beat Duran. NOTHING!

I think style wise (read this carefully and notice I'm a huge JCC fan) Hatton would match up better style wise against JCC. Still I don't think he candle JCC either.

I gotta tell yeah I love this Hatton kid, I really do .Rick is one smothering, non stop in your face fighter. reminds me of Wayne McCullough with power.. I like his chances against any of the brawler type jr welterweight or welterweights. his problems will come from a slick boxer in a big ass 27 foot ring. ,

I love Duran and JJC also. both on my all time favorite list.. great fight that would be.. Hatton vs either guy.. thrill fest

I like his fighting style too, but more then anything promotional problems, weight, lay-off time has gotten the best of his career. Mans got talent but IMO he spent the 1st part of his career in England and the 2nd sitting just wasting time. Right after Tszyu he should have jumped all ober the division kicking ass left and right. Instead it took him 5 months to decide on a opponent and not only that but by that time people were tired of hearing who was gonna fight next. It was ALL talk but NO action and that finally cut the last string that was left for me.

Once Hatton fights, win or lose against someone like PBF, ODLH, Mosley, you know one of the big american fighters that can't have holes picked into them then you can use that as a yardstick for any of these hypothetical match ups, you know, when Hatton beat Tszyu he went from being the most dominant and greatest junior lightweight champion of all time and a p4p top 3 (#1 for most let us not forget), and overnight became this old guy who was ring rusty and overated, so we still don't know how good Hatton is.
Personally I can't judge this one because i don't have a time machine, and haven't seen anyone better than duran at lightweight that has beaten hatton, or anyone at 140/135 who is definatly better than hatton at the minute.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

I thought a year ago that Hatton would give Mayweather Hell, but he seems to have lost his flexability looking I think hes got hip problems
