I also think ODLH won the fight it was a very close fight.

ODLH harder/cleaner punches throughout the fight were scoring major points for him. Like the other people here the onslaught that he put on Ike in the 12th was what put him slightly ahead. I too like BIG H thought the fight could have easily been stoped I've seen lesser onslaughts that have been enough to stop fights.

Exciting fight and it really could have gone wither way....

I just re-watched this. This is exactly round-for-round how I scored the fight. With most close fights, there are multiple rounds that could go either way, but I thought in this fights the rounds were easy to score. Quartey clearly won the seven rounds that I gave to him, and De La Hoya clearly won 5 rounds, including the 10-8 final round. I thought Quartey clearly deserved a close victory.
The two judges who gave it to DLH scored it 116-113 and 116-112, which were way too lopsided IMO. A one-point victory for DLH would have been understandable (although incorrect IMO), but a 3 or 4 point margin for DLH is just bad judging.

Well this is the problem, if Oscar had run the last round and not even shown urgency he would have won the fight. Even Oscar didnt think that by the way he fought, not even his father yelling at him to finish Quartey off in those final 30 seconds(you can see him in the crowd yelling at DLH) knew that he needed a knockout to win. But the judges already had it for oscar
