Exactly, his amature day's were pure boxing and he was not known as a power puncher.

Definitely a true statement. Atlas knows his ish. That's not to say that someone without a lot of innate talent can't become a decent puncher by learning technique, becuase they can. They'll just never have world class power. It all comes down to fast-twitch muscle fibers and muscle memory. Some people are just born with the ability to throw short, straight, fast, properly leveraged punches. Much in the same way Roger Clemens was born with an ability that eventually have him launching 100mph fastballs, Tito was born with the ability to punch. I'll put it to you like this. The first time I ever went to the gym, I was in high school. My buddy Adam took me. He also wrestled and played football, and at 5'10", 240 pounds of muscle, was a pretty good Linebacker. Within 2 or three times going to the gym, I was sparking Adam in sparring, even though he'd been doing it for a year and I was relatively skinny at 6'3", 215 pounds. Some of it was reach, but the main reason was that I could hit harder than him. My body just took to the jab/hook/cross. I had always thrown pretty striaght punches anyhow, whereas some people have to learn. Just look at one of those gang fight videos. You see the dumbass gang members throwing clubbing overhand shots that land with minimal effect and make them look like girls slap boxing. I'm guessing even had Tito never set foot in a boxing gym, he would never have punched like that.

Nerr sorry bro..Tito was born and raised in the ring...
Papa trinidad sr was a former featherweight champ...
Tito's real power never really shone until he got into the pro's...
His amatuer record boasted something like 60 wins but only 15 ko's or something...
And at one point tito was 40 -0-0 with 33 ko's before he fought bernard ....
Its just something he was born with but his style suited it well...
There was something about the way he stood on the ball of his right foot and the way he truely commited to punches...
