You know, of all the posts I've read lately about Valuev, I like yours the best. I agree 300%. Why is the heavyweight division open-ended? Letting Valuev fight 220 pound guys is like putting middleweights in the ring with bantamweights. It's just not fair. And yeah... Valuev is not that good. Seeing him talk about 49-0, one of boxing's more revered records, makes my stomach turn. So I, for one, will decide to stay off the bandwagon on this one.

I actually disagree here. The reason a middleweight cannot fight at bantamweight is that they would have so much extra power and strength that it would be a mismatch.

Once your in the heavyweight ranks though being of freakishly large size isn't actually all that much of an advantage.

Show me one giant in any combat sport who has reigned supreme. They don't. They are too slow and cumbersome to be really effective.

Look at Giant Silva, the biggest combat fighter around. At 7 ft 7 he dwarfs even Valuev any yet to my knowledge has lost virtually all of his K-1 fights apart from a fight against fellow monster 464 lb Akebono.

Akebono it goes without saying has lost all of his 13 or so fights
