Any famous personality who has been accused of any crime in the UK undergoes firstly a national shaming campaign in the papers. They are pictured running to their car with their coat pulled up over their head to obscure them.
Then they are immediately taken off the air altogether, suspended from whatever show or shows they were part of and shunned by the media and virtually all their famous friends.
Then once the court case is over, if the charges are dropped they get to appear on daytime tv and talk about their nightmare, how they were totally innocent and completely vindicated.
At this point if their reputation is restored in the eyes of the public they will get their old shows and their showbiz friends back and carry on as normal.
If however the public are not totally satisfied they will remain shunned for a longer period before given a chance to redeem themselves, usually by appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, but I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is also an acceptable show to attempt redemption on.
