Anyone know how much hes paying Roach for this? That would tell us a little more about whether the split with Mayweather was really over cash.

Roach is all about agression, pressure, and a smart game plan. He's the second best man for the job.

aggression, pressure and smart game plan? sounds pretty complete...roach does have very different fighters from a pacman to a james toney...

Oscar also considered Ignacion "Nacho" Berinstain who trained Ricardo Lopez.

Ronnie Shields would have been a good choice, but I like Roach.

My concern about that is , is Oscar guna make the same mistake he made against Mosley the 1st time . Thinking he is the bigger stronger man and pressuring Floyd round after round . Theres the danger he may become the slow plodder in this fight cuz as you say Roach is about aggression and Oscar really needs to use his head in this one or he'll be outboxed by the younger fresher guy .

Floyd the man in his peak . Oscar is 5 or 6 years after his so its guna take a gameplan of pure genuis to suceed here .

Who do you think is the best man for the job then ?

    I like Freddie Roach.
If Freddie Roach can bring out the dark side in Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be in a heep of trouble.
I hate fighters who are too gentleman like in the ring.
Like Manny Pacquiao for example, how many times have we heard Freddie Roach tell Manny to stop being so nice to his opponents in the ring. I wish Freddie could bring out the dark side in Manny Pacquiao too. Can you imagine a mean, angry, nasty, ruthless Manny Pacquiao? I can.

He brought the dark side out of Peter Manfredo Jr. and I hope that helps him against Joe Calzaghe, but Joe has a dark side too, so Peter is going to have to be very careful. LOL

I like the Teddy Atlas option too. I hate his commentating sometimes because he can sit there and talk about things and distract or take away from the action in the ring. Sometimes he does not know when to shut the phuk up and call the fight. Just for this reason, I would have loved to see him go on vacation. LOL But overall, Freddie Roach is the best choice of the two.

Bring out the dark side in Oscar De La Hoya, Freddie and Floyd is toast.

even if he brings *dark side* out of oscar i still think mayweather wins he is younger fitter and faster and is hell of a talent and im picking mayweather by decision

What about Billy Graham, he constantly telling everyone who will listen that he knows how to beat Mayweather and that it would actually be quite an easy fight for Hatton
