No. The belt is worthless and most everyone knows that. A fight with Castillo would be no different whether the title was on the line or not. Why didn't he honour some more mandatories before he moved up to welter?? Why didnt he defend that belt he won from Collazo?? For all anyone knows he will never be able to fight Castillo for this little trinket, and who really cares?? The IBF is so rapidly becoming a laughing stock, what's to stop them from saying he must fight another mandatory if he gets past this one?? Basically it's a cop out, and most people I think realize that. It's funny how suddenly people are Haters for ridiculing Hatton for this, when I remember even the most diehard Hatton fan saying that Urango was a bad choice of opponent and Ricky better rebound with a big fight afterwords... Well, he isn't....How bout if Calzaghe beats Manfredo, then in the meantime Sergio MOra moves up to super middle, beats Scott Pemberton and is ranked no.1, should Joe fight him next to make sure that if he ever fights Kessler he'll still have his titles on the line?? No...what needs to be straightened is that Calzaghe's next opponent is a joke. Just as was Hatton's last.

Nothing about Calzaghe speaks bum. Calzaghe's a champion...he's just not doing what the status quoe demands...thus he's disappointed many...the same goes for Hatton...I'm as disappointed in him as I am Calzaghe...but Joe aint a bum & he's fought many game fighters.

Again...it's a defect in us all as fans...it's not what youv'e done...it's what have you done for me lately.
Not only that, but Calzaghe is a much better p4p fighter than Hatton is. Say anything you want, anyone... But the talent just isn't comparable. That's why if anything I would criticize Calzaghe more... Because he has the ability to win the big fights people want him to take, and he isn't doing it... With Hatton at least I can understand why they are avoiding the big names...
