Default Margarito looking to fight Williiams instead of Cotto- Must Read Article

    http://www.boxeomundial.net:80/artic...NGLISH&id=4934

I just happened to stumble upon this but WoW, I'm glad I did. I think his pride is getting the best of him. He doesn't want to be thought of as a guy who ducks people or a hypocrite. Not to mention the $1.2 mil he'll get fighting Williams which would be by far his biggest payday. Either way I can't say I'm mad at him cause neither fight is a walk in the park.

Sorry guys. My son accidentally locked the topic on me last time and I had to remove and repost.

I wish Margarito all the best . He might not be the most technically sound fighter out there but he keep coming and keeps trying, and usually prevails. I like his determination factor. #90

Sounds like Maragrito wants more money... He's trying to do what Oscar did to Floyd.... Owned the negotiations.

I'd like to see Margarito fight Williams. Personally I reckon Tony will own him in a big big way.

Margarito victory with an exhausted and battered Williams slumping to the canvas around Round 11.

Yeah, at first I thought "Wow, I really respect Margarito for doing this" but now that I thought about it I wouldn't be suprised if its just a "threat" for him to earn more $ on a cotto fight.

But if Margarito is serious about taking Williams cause he doesn't want to be thought of as a ducker then I have lots of respect for him for doing that..but cant blame him if he isnt serious. Money first, then pride is how it works in the ring

Maybe Margarito is realizing that Arum's future plans revolve around Cotto and feels slighted. I mean, Arum was pretty clear on who made him proud the night Tony and Cotto shared a card. I think Arum saw something that night that led him to believe Cotto can beat Tony so he doesn't feel like Arum is out to do what's best for him anymore.

Makes sense to me....I'd fight Williams instead of Cotto....especially if I'm looking for a fight with De la Hoya or Mayweather Jr.

Cotto is the better boxer, better technical fighter, and he sets up his punches better and honestly does more damage....he may not hit as hard as Paul but he breaks things when he does, ask Gianaluca Branco and Paulie Malinaggi!

Williams is physically impressive but we've seen his lack of defense and a guy like Toni should be able to take advantage of Williams' youth.

True on the future/long run outcome about ODLH, PBF makes sense....

Paul might punch harder with the straight punches, but in hooks Cotto takes him all the way..... Take Pauls last fight against Santos Pakau if you notice Pauls punches loose steam in the middle of the rounds.... His punches loose the snap in them and he begins to almost slap his punches he also doesn't follow through with the punches he snaps / bends at the elbow. He doesn't do this the entire round but I saw it happen in every round of the fight. Pakau was there in front of him the whole night (and not to mention caught Paul with some really good hooks to the temple). I'm willing to bet Cotto would have stopped Pakau inside of 4 rds.

I just know that if Tony-Paul comes off we're gonna be in for a real treat....

So what are all the fwocking idiots that said Tony is ducking Paul and TOny this,Tony that now?

Tony DUCKS NO ONE! I think he was pissed at Williams running his mouth and he was pissed at Arum, becaue Bob thinks just because Cotto had 1 good night at 147, and TONY had 1 bad night, that Cotto will all of a sudden destroy Tony ...big mistake.

I'm going on record now,Margarito is going to beat Williams and beat Cotto. Just like I said Tony was not ducking Paul but haters/ignorant fans/PBF fans who know he ducked Tony said he was....

Margarito is going to be super charged for these fights,I honestly honestly hope Paul keeps running his mouth and because it can only serve to pump this Mexican badass even more.

Margarito's now ducking Cotto? Smart move.

Seriously though...he stands a better chance of beating Williams than Cotto. Williams (while fun to watch & hits like a mule kicks) is like an open book compared to Cotto.

I'd pick Margarito over Williams due to the experience factor & the fact that he'll come out trying to make a statement by knocking Margarito out & it'll cost him...but I still like Williams better.
