Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mosley vs Collazo.
Things being what they are...here I am...back for some DRBR coverage.
The fight starts later on tonight & I had some down time for a few moments & thought that I'd toss in a few thoughts here & there.
First of all...thanks for the love fellars.
s to all me bruvuh's from ovuh muvah's!
Alrighty...this will be a bit more choppy & sloppy...but here's what I think on tonight's match up...
Personally, I like what I saw from Collazo.
I think that the kid's got "some goods"...but I don't think that he's got "the goods"...atleast not the kind it will take to beat Mosley.
Everyone rips into Mosley for his losses...myself included...but the fact remains that Mosley is an amazing fighter that's generally a beaut in the ring. Mosley is one of the finer students of the game & he is indeed what embodies & coins the phrase "the sweet science".
I asked earlier if Mosley still had what it takes or if he could still be "sugar sweet"?
I, honestly, believe that he can.
I have never been a huge fan of Mosley...the man...but you'd be a fool not to admire Shane or say that the man is unskilled. Shane is one hell of a boxer. Losing to a prime Forrest or Wright is no shame, oddly enough for me...him beating Oscar was what really killed it for me.
That's no way to be though, especially if your'e a fan of the sport. If your'e a fan of the sport...you have to recognize Shane for the attributes that he has & for the fact that he generally conducts himself like a true champion.
That being said & me going on & on & on about how great Shane is...some focus should be turned to Collazo.
IWO, I think that he should have either taken the decision or drawn against Hatton. I think that he did enough to pull out a close decision after the first 3 rounds were in the bag. He won't have the same luxuries with Mosley that he did against Hatton. Hatton, being a pressure fighter that he is, was not really able to establish any form of dominance for the bulk of the fight & he more or less gassed out in the latter half of the match.
Mosley will not do this...atleast I don't think that he will.
I gotta pick Mosley.
What can I say? The devil that you know, I guess.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
