Lewis would have struggled with Tyson in the 80's where as Bowe would have won.
Lewis is also overrated...to slow and lumbering. Tyson circa 1987 would have done it in 2-3 rounds.
Tyson lost to Douglas and in reality probably should not be ranked in the top 10 of all time as a lot of boxing scribes have done.

Yep, me too. Holyfield would've beaten Tyson in 1991, 1997, 2007, whenever. And I would like Lewis and Bowe's chances as well if they had fought in the early 90's.

Lewis was fast in the late 80's early 90's ..real fast and excellent power... much better at that point in time then he was when he made that 25-30 lbs leap after the Ruddock fight , all that muscle slowed him to a crawl.. The 226 lb Lewis that destroyed Ruddock would have given a prime Tyson some troubles IMO.

    Lewis -vs- Ruddock

Pepe Correa was a great trainer, and Lewis was a better fighter for it. Lennox would have been more exciting and thus be held in higher regard, had he stayed with Pepe IMO .

Pisses me off how he says "I did it as a Brit!"
He used the Canadian Amateur program to develop his skills and fought for Canada in the Olympics twice!!
he moved to Canada at age 12 and had done no boxing before coming to Canada, NONE!
Canadian citizens and taxpayers dollars supported, fed, clothed and trained him. It cost MILLIONS of $$$ to send a fighter to the Olympics! He went and learned his train and gained notoriety on Canada's back TWICE, and that is how he shows his gratitude! F#ck Him!
That fight was 2 Canadian boxers. Britain can have the ungrateful b@stard as far as I'm concerned.

For what. Sparring matches or exhibitions with 320 pound hulks? Give me a break. He quit on his stool like a dog against McBride and that shoud be a part of his infamous legacy. Tyson snatched defeat from victory and dissapointed his fans by becoming a big "what if." Can we just move on?

So it's 50/50 from different angles and perspectives
    pretty much sums it cc

I don't think that overhand right would have hit Tyson when he knew what "Defense" was.

But it's all up to interpretation, he peaked too soon and changed his style from combos and defense to one punch ko.  In many ways...he's like hamed, not in style but circumstance.

he became a 1 punch hitter,,,this set him up 4 defeat

he only lost 1 fight in his prime...much like joe louis

now after having a 5 yr retirement.....he sure as hell was just a shadow of his former self

point being -the tyson b4 jail was a legend--after jail--like an old louis

nobody counts louis fights after he came out of retirement, how come they count tysons fights sfter retirement?

people focus on tyson after jail--not b4 when he really was a beast ripping through all his opponents, so i think hes underrated becaus pple focus on his after jail career
He's not rated now because he is retired, But Pre Prison, He was a monster capable of decapitating any heavy that ever lived, Post Prison, He was pretty much a little better than average.

you petty parochial bastard, is it not possible to have allegiance to more than one flag in your universe? He was born here, he'd have boxed here and y'know what if he'd have walked into a shithot gym in London instead of some crappy canadian one he might;ve ended up TWICE the fighter he was, but he didn't. Big deal. Doesnt change the fact he's born in Britain and has British citizenship. Stupid stupid man.

He COULD NOT have fought for Canada in the Olympics without CANADAIN citizenship!

Maybe you Brits should be glad that us Canadians have some alliegance
that's why we declared war on Germany the same day as Britain even though we were 5000 miles away and safe in the shadow of the USA!
1 million Canadians served in WWII
45,000 Canadian war dead 55,000 wounded both my Uncle and Father fought in WWII
1 out of every 200 Canadians DIED in WWII and onother 1 in 200 were wounded
WWI ever heard of it? 62,000 dead 175,000 wounded
to save your asses from the kraut b@stards!
Lewis was proud to wave the CANADIAN flag when it suited him best
BUT when there was more money to be made he dumped it for the Union Jack or Stars and Stripes or whatever suited him that day!

Ya your right... all that country allegance stuff.....stupid...we should have stayed home!
