I don't really see the relevance of the Meldrick Taylor fight in building a case for Floyd to beat Chavez. Meldrick Taylor threw more punches in his fight with Chavez than Floyd usually does in three fights. Floyd would not be throwing perpetual motion shots to keep Chavez off him like Taylor was.

As to the Whitaker fight, again, I'm not sure how relevant it is. Both Floyd and Pea have good defense true, but they fight much differently. Whitaker throws more punches than Floyd, and he also works the body better than Floyd does. Whitaker's key to success against Chavez was being able to break Chavez down to the body before going back up to the head. Mayweather certainly didn't have any success in doing that to Castillo. When you consider Chavez is more skilled than Castillo, it spells bad news for Floyd imo.
