I lamped a squaddie once (for getting fresh with Mrs smash)... Sparked him in one and put a huge cut across his cheek and i never ever ware rings on my fingers.
Basically you can land one punch in a bare knuckle fight and it's all over.
Knuckles are just hard bone at the end of the day and you can do some proper damage with very little punches.
