I think a lot of Floyd's detractors hear the things Floyd says personally and get turned off by it. Calling himself the greatest fighter of all time. Better than Ali, better than Sugar Ray Robinson. Almost claiming he's immortal.
And when he says these kinds of things about himself, it just opens up all the floodgates to critique every decision he's ever made regarding his opponents.
Because in comparison to what he claims to be, of course there's no way anyone could live up to the hype that surrounds him and the hype that he creates even for himself.
People find it hard to appreciate things for what they are and only for what they are.
Floyd looks spectacular virtually every time he steps in the ring. But no matter who he beats and how good he beats them, Floyd's haters will always find some sort of ammunition against him. Because there's no way he (or any human) can live up to what he claims he is.
