Bruno, Hatton, Naz, Henry Cooper, Chris Eubank.

The reason for that is because they also do a lot for the community normally, and also they appear on lots of popular televsion shows and spend time attending events, opening things, and being general philanthropists for the country (helping others who are disadvantaged in some way for example)

I know Tyson did a lot of that also

They are all very personable and decent people who you can have opening schools etc or as guests on family TV shows.

So why is Mayweather not known - well what has he done for anyone apart from himself?? and would you like him on mainstream TV as a role model for how grown ups should speak in public and how you would like everyone in the world to speak with each other like he does

I rest my case
true...His "I'm so friggin great" personality has slowed the public to warming up to him...also he's not in any commercials or known to attend charity events or functions......His PR guy needs fired.....

Exactly!! CC for that.....

People can not blame boxing.....Do you think that the NFL pushes their players alone??...Just as Big Ragu mentioned about charity events...Commercials ect....Players do public service announcements ect........People like to see athletes acting as regular people...they like to know their heads are not swollen to the max....There was a time everyone new the big names...in the 80's Hagler did commercials,,Leonard,,Hearns,,Holmes,,,and boxing does not get them PR people do...Plus Floyd has an attitudeproblem...You can't spend your time telling everyone how great you are...no one wants to hear that out of your mouth everytime they see your face on camera what happens is people tune you out
cc all round. Great points.
But then you take a guy like Ali who all he talked about was how great he was early on in his career.
Or even more recently Naz who always carried the arrogance with him. You either loved them or you hated them, but the bottom line was at least they were at least known. Whether you tuned in to watch them win or get their blocked knocked off, you wanted to see what they were gonna do.
So if Floyd's gonna be a bad boy, why can't he be a better known villain?
