Secondly, if I bring up Marciano-Tyson as a hypothetical bout all the Tyson fanatics give one reason Tyson beats Rocky......SIZE.....in this case Lennox Lewis in his prime 6'5 250 and Mike Tyson in his prime 5'10 218-220....there is a HUGE size difference there....6 inches in height, 30-40 pounds, and no telling how much in reach.....you can't have it both ways Tyson fans!

I'm not trying to dis Mike Tyson but his experiences out of his prime showed more of his flaws and his troubles with certain styles than his prime years....not because HIS skill level deteriorated so much but it was more of a case of his opponents were better....Holyfield, Lewis, Rudduck, Golota......those guys were FAR better than anyone Tyson had fought before then and that's just a FACT.
Lyle good point (as i have seen this point made in arguements before.
However, i believe the size "factor" plays a decent role when both fighters have similar styles.Typically, a banger, will be shorter than your "jabber" because thats what he has to be with the height he has. If tyson was 6'4, 6'5 im not to sure you would of seen the Peak-a-boo style we knew tyson for. So to say tyson wouldnt have the advantage over marciano because of size is a bit premature (IMO). Now,this arguement is difficult for me to give my opinion on, for 1, i love both fighters. But if i have to put tysons best performance against marciano's best performance.... id have to say tyson would have a slight edge. even though marciano was a tough S O B, i aint seen many guys who fought for years, scared to fight an 18 year old. Its hard to think of tyson in his prime, because it was happen so quick. But he was devastating.

That is the problem with tyson his glory days were over so quickly and also when tyson was at his peak he was early 20's lennox was late 30's so it is hard to match them ive always said tyson would win easy but thats why i did this for others opinions. Im new to this site and i thinks its brill thanks for the opinions guys

If they fought 10 times, a prime Lewis beats a prime Tyson 7-8 times.

Lewis was not in his prime (state of mind & conditioning) for the first Rahman. Lewis had grown overly confident and lazy and side tracked with a movie I think. If you think the above would occur if Lewis ever fought Tyson you are mistaken.

Lewis was in his mid-30s, weighed over 250 pounds, and hadn't shown up in South Africa ahead of time to get adjusted to the altitude.
In-shape, focused Lennox Lewis destroyed Rahman in 4 rounds in Las Vegas several months later.

Not to mention quit training camp almost a month before the fight to shoot a 15 second scene in Oceans 11 with Vitaly Klitschko

Lennox takes him in the late rounds when Tyson's power isn't at it's sharpest.
IT's true Lewis WOULD throw 30 jabs a round, so since Tyson would KO his @ss in 30 seconds Lewis would have thrown 5 jabs and landed none.

    Here's my logic.....
Larry Holmes...(best skilled big jabbing HW all time?)
    vs
    Micheal spinks......2 very close fights....

    Mike Tyson
    vs
Micheal Spinks......90 not even close seconds...

replace the name Larry "the Eastin Assasin"Holmes
with the name Lennox "the Canadian traitor" Lewis.

Remember Tyson against a quite skilled and good sized Trevor Berbick ?(who I picked to win by the way)

    case closed..

I don't know if anyone survives, never mind beats a prime Tyson...
except of course ... NICOLAI VALUEV.

Tyson in 1986-88 would have easily destoyed a lumbering Lewis, if Rahman could flatten Lewis at any time in his career then surely Tyson would have done the same. 2mins tops

Well what do you define Tyson's "prime" years as?
Because Tucker went 12 rounds with Tyson in '87, so did Bonecrusher Smith. Those guys survived. Is prime Tyson strictly the guy who fought Spinks?

    Here's my logic.....
Larry Holmes...(best skilled big jabbing HW all time?)

This is pretty poor logic. Larry Holmes was 36 years old and past his prime when he lost to Spinks. Holmes is a great champion, but he wasn't great anymore by the time Spinks beat him.
I think a prime Holmes would've beaten Tyson just like a prime Lewis would. And this isn't even mentioning a prime Ali, who would've run circles around Tyson.
