Both of these guys last wins came against overachievers. Baldomir was just a guy at the right place at the right time. You can't be given an easier opportunity at winning all 3 belts at once that Baldomir had. Anytime someone as suspect and inconsistent as Zab Judah is reigning as an undisputed champion of a division, you know it ain't the glory days. Baldomir's tough and decent, but let's be real, does this guy measure up to other great undisputed champions in boxing history? And with Oscar, Mayorga came to prominence similar to Baldomir. I give him credit for breaking Vernon Forrest, but Forrest simply was stupid for letting his ego take over and deciding to trade with him. Mayorga is merely an average size version of Butterbean. Can anyone speak of one moment where this guy displayed 2 seconds of any fundamental skill? The fact of the matter is one thing remains true, styles make fights. I think Floyd is p4p #1 however he's far from invincible, but I think stylistically, it would take someone like a Hatton or Cotto to beat him, and I'm not even saying they would, but they very well could, and Floyd knows this, which is why he's exstatic that Oscar will share the wealth and give him an exit fight. Oscar does not pressure fighters the way Castillo or Hatton or Cotto do. He has an entirely different style, and his style poses no risk to Floyd. Oscar, on the other hand, also has nothing to lose, as he'll be picking up around $30 million and if he can somehow keep it close and lose competitively, he can spin it as being robbed and save face, as he's done with every loss barring the Hopkins KO, and also add to the fact that he's at the end of his career. Floyd winning and retiring, IMO, would be more disgraceful than getting KO'd in 10 seconds, because Hatton and/or Cotto are the guys that have the style to provide everyone with what they want: a fight with Floyd where he can't run, but is forced to indeed fight. Oscar does not possess the style to do that, and therefore come May 5th he's gonna lose, not because Floyd is greater, but because he's in his prime, hungrier, and stylewise, is unthreatened.
