Your basically saying that you know the boxing HOF weighs in a fighters great performances, heart, warrior spirit, popularity, impact on the sport, but you just don't think they should and instead should go by simply the p4p best fighters on each era. I think theres more to it then that. Guess thats all there is to it. Have a CC, didn't have a personal problem with your opinion at all, I just don't agree with it.
Again, I also know what stance you're coming from, I simply disagree that the intangibles you speak of merit induction. IMO, you're either the best of the best, or you're not, intangibles (heart, guts, fearlessness) withstanding. You think boxing should look at those. I simply don't.
I can understand you thinking that since Gatti really only possesed those intagibles in excess and what otherwise quite limited, he shouldn't get in.. But how can you honestly say boxing simply, shouldn't look at them. Like they aren't a part of the sport Say you have a fighter who's skills were very very good, borderline elite and top p4p... But he also happened to have the most heart, grit, balls, and determination one could have.. It wouldn't tip him into the ranks?? Come on.. Who knows what some greats would have been without those intangibles... The name Fransico Bojado springs to mind, along with Zab Judah, the man in your avatar... Hey, wait a minute............
