Nope, I'm intending to, then I can tell you if I think this writer is biased. Matter of fact why doesnt if anyone posts it on youtube we post it in the controversial fights thread and see what happens.

Yeah,I have now read 2 reviews of the fight and both said Gorres should have won. Even Manny, who was in the crowd, says that that ref should have cautioned him instead of taking points away! WOW! Getting robbed in your OWN backyard must suck balls!

i really don't think it be considered a total robbery. although i have gorres winning by a close decision, montiel was able to do enough in the late rounds to maybe sway the 2 judges in his favor. it would have been a lot closer without the point deductions.

Yeah, Gorres felt pretty bad after the fight. However, Montiel did mention to Gorres that he will be a future champion soon and that he fought a really good fight. Montiel even shouted right after the match that he loved Cebu. Class act for a champion like Montiel . Mexican's fighters are beginning to realize that for as long as they give their best, Filipino's (especially those living in the Philippines) give them respect, win or lose. Oscar Larios experienced it. Erik Morales was initially afraid going to the Philippines but was pleasantly surprised how well he is liked in the Philippines. Montiel experienced the Filipino hospitality before and after the fight.

And for Gorres, he definitely made a name for himself. He gained everyone's respect even if he lost. A mark of a true fighter and champion.

So, believe it or not, it is not winning or losing that counts, but how you play the game. . .

Saw the fight. Did not think the ref should have taken points away. Did not agree with the judge that scored it 115-111 for Montiel; without the 2 point deduction that judge would have scored it lopsided win for Montiel which was far from the case. It was a fun fight to watch. I thought Gorrez absolutely schooled Montiel in the mid rounds up to the tenth. Montiel just had a harder punch but seems like was the more damaged fighter after the fight based on facial injuries. I thought Z was robbed. Nothing new in boxing though. The ref was biased, could be cuz he was latino. The other judge from West Covina was Mexican so you never know. I think Z was absolutely robbed in that fight though. Just an opinion. Great fight though.
