Lewis would always have a chance, but otherwise I completely agree with you. Tyson could very well defeat Lewis prime for prime.Originally Posted by matteoz

Yes Mike got the better of a teenage Lennox Lewis.....it's not quite the 250 pound version who could control an entire fight
I heard he knocked Lewis down twice. Anyways, A prime Tyson would knock out any heavy from the pioneer era till today.

Of course this is because prime Tyson lasted 5 months and fighted bums right?

i would say in my personal opinion that tysons prime, his abslute peak was 86-88 , that was when he was at his very best IMO..........i also beleive that tyson had all the tools and potential to be the greatest and surpass muhamad ali, except for one factor, he was mentaly weak,it was his downfall....If tyson had say marcianos grit and determination,i beleive he would have been unbeatable!
....in those 2 years between 86-88,tyson was very head strong,he was hungry and eager to show the world he was the best, and IMO i dont think lewis could beat that version of tyson,im not saying it would be easy for tyson, not at all,it would have been the most competitive fight of his life! And i dont know if tyson would ko lewis but i think he would be all over him, chasing him all around the ring for 12 rds with lewis having some good moments but nothing big. SO i dont see an upset for lewis im afraid.....sorry lennox fans
....but ive seen a hell of alot of fights and fighters and the 86-88 tyson is the best HW ive seen since ALI....a lot of you will disagree...oh well.....thats my story cheers!![]()

thing is tyson did always struggle with jab and move types and tall fighters like tucker tillis ect and this was when he was in his prime lewis would have to look for uppercut because tyson gets caught with that punch as he is coming in i see him get caught vs tucker ruddock and holyfield with that punch lewis would have to be on his best night to survive early onslaught if he can he comes back and starts discouraging tyson with jab then he lands uppercut late on a stops tyson fight could go two ways imo tyson early or lewis lateOriginally Posted by MR T
one last thing lewis would use his much longer reach and height to keep tyson at bay and would use his left jab to good affect
Getting back to the sparring... Lewis was on Sky sports talking about it and his claim was it used to get pretty heated his sparing with Tyson and mike used to try and take his head off.... when pushed and asked by the interviewer what he did.
Lewis said i done my Ali impersonation.
yes, granted Tyson was only sparring a teenage Lennox Lewis but they sparred back in 83/84 when Tyson was still a good couple years and about 20/30 lbs away from turning pro himself so its all relative man!Originally Posted by Lyle
How can you make such a statement? If a prime Tyson was fucking unbeatable; how does a slightly past prime Tyson lose to half-way legitimate opponents. You all can wish in one hand and shit in the other......and see which fills up first. Tyson doesn't crack my top 10 best heavywieghts.......just a talented moron with no character. A shame really.Originally Posted by TheDukeof74

Lewis always had a questionable chin from what we saw in the McCall/Rahman losses so there is always a chance that a leaping, swarming fighter like Tyson in his prime could knock him out...that being said, a peak Lewis I think is too rangy, too big, too technically sound to let Tyson get to him, he boxes from the outside with the jab and straight right until Mike wears down eventually late and gets KOed or pounded to a unanimous decision. Out of a three fight trilogy, I say Lewis takes two out of three.Originally Posted by tysonbruno
