....I hope Popo whips Juan Diaz's ass!
If there's anyone in the lightweight division that I like less than Juan Diaz it's that mascara wearing cry baby.
Isn't Juan the Baby Bull. The guy who is in college for a bachelors and they act like he is a fucking astronaunt?

A cowards fight. Who's the biggest coward? Frteitas or Diaz? I think Freitas is. But he still wins this fight.
Cowards? Freitas has been in two of the best boxing wars of the new century in the Barrios and Corrales fight. Sure he quit versus Corrales, but Frazier, Tszyu and Duran quit too... Freitas can bang and he's all action.
Did anyone see the Cotto fight? That was an AWESOME fight. The Billy Irwin fight? No way was Diaz a coward in that one. He's the youngest champ in all of boxing and is really an exciting fighter. I know you're mad at Popo for not making the Casamayor fight happen but this is about a good of a consolation prize as you can ask for. This is going to be a cracking fight.
He's a prelaw student and the fact that he has been boxing professionally since his junior year of high school and still manages to balance the two is amazing. I'm a junior in high school and I have a hard time balancing being a boxing fan and school much less a pro boxerOriginally Posted by boozeboxer

He even had to ditch prom night because he had a fight on Shobox. Boxing has a bad stereotype of being a sport with all goons. Well...the more Juan Diaz', Wlad's and Brock's we have the better. How he is a world champion and a pre-law student deserves all the recognition he's received for it imo.
I agree it should be a good fight. There styles match. But it don't change the fact that both punked out of fights against Casamayor
thought he was retired? could of sworn we all were bitchin bout him retiring in a thread not too long ago?
I understand he has had to make sacrifices. But so does everyone that is successful. Pre-law isn't law school by the way. HUGE difference. He has only been taking 3-6 hours lately so you all cant tell me he is making painstaking sacrifices. I think it is great he is trying ot get an education, but I think that that aspect of his appeal is way inflated.Originally Posted by amat

Haven't heard about the hours but he is still on line to get his degree in his 4th year right? And the pre law courses and all that on top, pretty impressive I think. I just like to see fighters setting up a future for themselves outside of boxing. A lot of class A fighters go from rags from birth to rags to death and that's always been one of the more troubling aspects of the sport.
Yeah it's overblown but he serves as a good role model.
CC. I think we are agreeing to agree.
