Yeah thats pretty much mixing his work and trying to impress judges in what looks like a distance fight . Doing the same thing wont work cuz both men will be adjusting as the fight goes on .Originally Posted by CutMeMicK

Educated pressure would play right into Barreras hands . Marquez would be in punching distance like Juarez was , leading , being first but being open to counters . Barrera would box him at his own comfortable pace doing that
High volume agression from Marquez would be interesting but I doubt he could keep it up cuz it isnt his style . Marquez cant try to beat Barrera the way Pac did cuz he isnt Manny Pacquiao . Its a high risk tactic cuz if it fails after 6 rounds will he have enough to see out the last 6 .
box fighting would be his best chance IMO . Barreras got a heavier jab so Marquez has to make him uncomfortable by fighting him up close when Barrera wants to box and when Barreras wanting to engage then Marquez has to frustrate him by boxing . Its a big ask but there is no easy way to beat Barrera
If Marquez brawls with Barrera he'd be mad IMO . Barrera has faster hands and is a bigger hitter IMO . Erik came off second best with that tactic against Marco and I think Eriks a better fighter than Marquez . The intensity and focus will be there with Barrera so brawling wont suit Marquez at all .
Its hard to envision Marquez winning but if the judges like what he's doing he can pull off an upset . He just has to get it right and hope Marco isnt at his best cuz if he is JMMs in trouble
