As for the 87% number that was thrown out (I believe by Mick), there's no way that number is accurate. Yes, large amounts of children are born to single parents, but there is no way 87% of people in the US have children out of wedlock, that's way too high. I have no idea where that number is coming from.
Not a hard number to believe, as a society moral values are on a steep decline. Everyone now days likes to get their groove on as soon as they can, very early in age !
It is a hard number to believe, and there is no way that it is accurate, especially when you're talking nationwide.
November 21, 2006- (Associated Press)
Out-of-wedlock births in the United States have climbed to an all-time high, accounting for nearly 4 in 10 babies born last year, government health officials said Tuesday. In 2005, nearly 70 percent of black children and 48 percent of Hispanic children were born to unwed mothers.

those are still pretty high numbers when you stop and think about it !
Yea, 4 out of 10 (or 40%) makes sense. 87% didn't.
that 87% was in the article, only it was talking about something else. mixed into the stats, easily could have been misinterpreted as the percent of unwed mothers ! .. no worries Mick !
