I have another Q for the trainers/ southpaws on this topic.

I fought a southpaw last year and found I was getting caught with a lot of hooks as counters to my straight punches.

I was sparring as a south paw last night to take some pressure of my left knee (which is still recovering from degradation of the patella tendon ) and I was trying to counter straights with hooks but couldn't do it.

Unfortunately I never got the video of this fight so I can't refer to that for help.

How do southpaws counter straights with their annoying hooks?

I don't intend to fight as a southpaw but I figure if I understand how this works for them I'll be able to understand how to fight against it.

I was told to throw many right hands and the occaisional jab to the body to help set stuff up when fighting this particular southpaw but I think some better explanations on how to fight a southpaw might come from someone else
