    Aye ?

Anyone who knows Joe knows he has bollocks bigger than Wales he'd walk to New York ( no swim ) to fight any of the so called top contenders

Joe has had injuries but i know he ooozes confidence and self belief like no fighter out there !

Comparing him to James Toney the laziest waste of talent of the last 15
    years .

    You are having a laugh

I am sorry are you Joe Calzaghe? Or Frank Warren??.....

At superMiddleweight James Toney would have gave Calzaghe a beatdown that would have given him a permenant studder....Don't confuse thise heavyweight version of James Toney to that of the Super middleweight version....Two comletely different fighters...

Only Roy Jones was able to beat that version.....

And if you even attempt to put Joe Calzaghe anywhere near the super middleweight version of Roy Jones I suggest you enter a 28 day program to sober up
A patronising post, backed up by very little. I politely disagree with the main bulk of this posting.
he never does back his posts up, prolly coz he can't.
Just seemed like a case of "here is my opinion go and deal with it, oh, and I will patronise you while im at it". An opinion is far from a fact and for an opinion to come anywhere close to fact needs to be supported with some good arguments. All utterly lacking here. Hate to be rude, Daxx...I usually like your posts, but this one sent me a little cold.
Sure, but I don't think the absurd post to which he was responding (beating the "red hot" Jeff Lacy is sufficient to make someone an all-time great; JC is leagues above the SMW Toney; Toney (a HOF shoe-in) is "the laziest waste of talent in 15 years") merited anything more. *That* is the post you should be taking issue with.
Jeff Lacy was indeed red hot, except for a number of amnesiacs here. Those people that picked him are gone or else are lurking to pounce, as they do!

I have taken issue with Jaxx merely because he is usually responsible for decent posts...

Do you really honestly believe that Calzaghe couldn't have found some legitimate opponents by now?? honestly now, I am as big of a Calzaghe fan as anyone, but you have to say eventually.........if a fighter NEVER fights top guys who's fault is it?

I agree that Jeff Lacy was extremely overhyped, and on a KO winning streak against sub-par fighters -- and thus "red hot." The absurdity of the prior post was not in noting this fact, but in holding it up as evidence of JC's all-time greatness. Miles, you're a smart guy; I know you can't possibly agree that beating an unproven Jeff Lacy makes someone an all-time great and better than James Toney. He deserves respect for being the first guy to expose Lacy, but it's not like he beat a prime RJJ or something.

Disagree all you want but fact is that Joe Calzaghe should not now or ever be compared to James Toney as far as his career goes....Please explain to me what has Calzaghe done to be in the class of Toney?,,,,,The hell with that swim to NY and fight any of the so called contenders what the hell is that supposed to mean?.....

Joe and his injuries when ever the proposition of a big fight against a genuine top level opponent has wore itself thin...If Calzaghe has all these balls and all this ability then lets see it.....James Toney and Roy Jones have proven their worth over the years.....

I actually thought after the Jeff Lacey fight ( Who was not great fighter but always a dangerous puncher) we were going to see a new side of Calzaghe....But what has he done since?.....I rate his record up there with that of Valuev...Looks good on paper but thats about it....

Excuses have run out...The injury problem does not work anymore...If you are hurt that much the RETIRE!!!!......Funny how he is OK to fight Peter Manfredo....Funny how when the fight was first proposed that Joe was talking just as much B***S*** as Warren about what a great fighter Peter was and how much of a dangerous opp he was but after a massive amount of criticizm he started acting like the fight was pushed on him....Only after the press dogged him.....

Toney is a true legend he has earned that right to be one...Time and again...Even as a fat a** hw.....

Joe has become the king of excuses and the prince of safety just under Valuev

Sorry you don't agree Miles but that is how I feel about him...His track record speaks for itself

Then maybe he shouldn't jump on the bandwagon in a debate he has nothing to do with...If he actually participated in the debate or had something actual to say then yes it would have been harsh and I would have never said what I said...But if your going to jump in and Just make a comment to stir up trouble then no it's not harsh...He didn't have a reson to just jump in and post what he did....

"He never back's his post up because he probably can't" I think was his exact words...Now I may be crazy here but that sounds like a sarcastic comment if I ever heard one.....If your going to dish it your going to get it back....

I am usually a fair guy....but I won't just sit and be insulted.....Miles was stating his opinion and I respect that...Preme was just stirring up trouble and thats all there was to his post

Of course, I dont think that beating Lacy makes Calzaghe as great as Toney. What I do believe is that if these 2 fighters met at 168 pounds the fight would be a pick 'em and about who could turn it on the most on the day...

I am not stating that Calzaghe is greater than Toney. Not by a long shot. I love both fighters, but think its a fight that could have gone either way.

Im not saying Calzaghe is greater than Toney. And im not saying beating Lacy is anyway near enough to make him that. All I have argued is that if these 2 favourite fighters of mine met at 168 I do think it could have gone either way...

Bottom line is Joe is,nt great he's good yes i admit that but great never he's left it to long to be great he has'nt really fought anybody in his 19 defences a James Toney or Roy Jones would have destroyed him a win over Jeff "im gunna plod towards you while you hit me" Lacy does'nt make him great it does'nt even put him in the same league as Toney or Jones. Its about time everybody woke up and realised Joe ain't that good if he was Warren would let him loose he was gunna fight the winner of Johnson vs Woods but did he no course he did'nt because it would'nt be easy so he fights Manfredo.Out of fourty odd fights he has had one fight that everyone mentions the Lacy fight apart from Lacy their is only another 5 good names on his record so why does everyone think he is so good what do we have to go on because all the other 13 guys he defended against would make anybody look great.
