The Ricky Hatton that beat Koysta Tysu IMO would have a good chance to beat any lightwelter weight in the world at any time,Including Mayweather. On that night he was on a high,in a leage of his own.
Any fighter would have had trouble staying the pace with him that night.

But since then he has looked a different fighter, for the worse. He was very scrappy in the Mauser fight against a very unskilled boxer.
In his last 2 fights he showed glimses of greatness but was easy to hit and faded very badly in the last quater of the fight.

If you listen to Team Hatton they will tell you he has beaten 3 world champions in his last 3 fights but in reality Hatton was a big favorate in all of thoes fights against hand picked opposition and failed to impress like the true world champion he is.

The Ricky Hatton of old will have to return on the 23rd or I fear he is going down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have no fear Hatton will rise to the occasion just as he always does.

JLC, IMO has begun to show signs of ware and tare from the 63 fights he has under his belt...

Check how many active fighters have that many fights, you won't find many and who knows depending on how this fight goes we might be witnessing JLC career come to a close...
Yes I agree about not looking good but I think Hattons biggest worry and problem is that for the last 3 or 4 round of a fight he looking out on his feet at times.

So as long as Castellio has somthing left at that stage I think he will stop RH.
I noticed in his last fight with Ndougjo JLC started to look winded by 5th round
What if they both pass out and fall for the count?
    Double KO?

On a serious note after talking about this fight yesterday with bilbo I'm seriously considering going.
Ndougio was very underrated coming into this fight. Ndougio is going to be tuff for anyone down the road , I think he learned a lot and I think he will bring it to the next level his next outing . Ndougio fought a fantastic fight , he was very strong. Castillo was lucky he got the nod.

I'm not sure it was so much a sign of age, as it was Ndougio being very solid . And one must remember
Castillo is at a heavier weight and his punch might not have the effect they once had. I think Hatton is physically stronger at 140 and will simply over power Castillo , Hatton will work the body and bring Castillo down .

    my prediction Hatton in 9

And that will be the only problem for Hatton against Castillo imo. If Hatton can go in and out on Castillo like he did against Urango then he will have a lot of success. I mean he looked the best he has ever looked since beating Tszyu in those first 5 rounds.

I think people are underestimating Hatton against Castillo though. He's probably stronger then Castillo, just as fast and while Castillo is a crafty fighter, he is also fairly one dimensional. And his chance to win is for Hatton to spend 12 rounds on the inside. While I think a lot of the fight will be fought in a phone booth, I doubt we really see it take that turn until the second half of the fight.

If anyone goes down in this one it's Castillo, we'll probably see a Hatton UD. Castillo is past it imo.

Definately the weight has affected Hatton last few fights, he will look alot better if he doesnt have to fight the scales. Maybe switch to light beer for a bit. Its now or never for Ricky so I think hes rededicating himself for this stretch of fights, hopefully.
No way Castillo was at his best imo. I mean it was Ndougo, Castillo never performs to terribly well in those stay busy fights. He could have had Reyes out in under 6 if he really wanted to.

Why do you think he was picked

Castillo is there to be hit IMO. I'm hoping he can go to the well for another big fight but I hoped that about Morales, look how that ended. This is not the same fighter that pushed Mayweather.

Ricky needs to make sure he doesn't go in and try the crap he has been with the hit and hold method...

I don't know if he is trying to fight smart in his opinion or he has just lost his hunger to be on top something that I have seen happen to many fighters after winning a world title....

If he goies in against Castillo trying to be cute and Castillo is on his game it's going to be a bad night for Hatton....The same can be said though if Hatton comes in with his A game and Castillo is performing like he did his last fight

I agree with you mick that JLC hasn't been that stellar his last two outings as well but I really think these two are going to bring the best out of each other. I think there both going to get up for this fight I mean JLC wants to win a title in that division and Hatton is finally finally fighting a marquee name. So I think come fight night we are going to see one helluva fight (my fingers are crosssed).

I agree with what you are both saying, its just the way Hatton has fades in the last few rounds of recent fights worrys me.

I dont think Hattons problem is down to lack of motivation coz I truly belive he was up for his last fight.

I think the way he alowes his weight to go up and down and nights on the piss have taken somthing away from Ricky that no amount of training can get back. You dont see many other top boxers out on the piss with the lads the way Hatton does.
