Winky spent 15 years as a lightmiddleweight. If it was such an acttractive fight why didn't it happen at middle back then?

And Hopkins may of not ruled out the heavies but as soon as he realised no-one gives a S*** about him fighting Maskaev, and he wont be making no delusional 15 million quid, thats when the Calzaghes, Roys and Winkys got a mention.

It's just different horses for different courses, I guess. I have no problem with the fight. If people want to fork-out for it cause they think it's intriguing and competitive then fine. I just see it as boringly predictable. A safe payday.
Winky isn't the type to make excuses, a loss would damage him. As for Hopkins being delusional about making $15 million dollars against Maskaev, Well Jones Jr biggest every payday was against Ruiz where he made over $10 million dollars, double his previous highest purse up to that point, so if Hopkins did get a fight with Maskaev without a doubt it could be a $10 million dollar plus payday for him.

I find it extraordinary the amount of hate Hopkins gets. Nobody would complain about Maskaev baing weak opposition for Sam Peter or Vitali Klitschko, they are big fights, but if Hopkins wants him the longtime middleweight at age 43 is taking another easy fight looking for a big payday
