New world title belt ideas.......

With Vitali Klitschko prounounced Champion Emeritus and Mikkel Kessler promoted to 'super' champion by the WBA thus allowing Mundine to become the regular world champ I was wandering what other great ideas the alphabet title organisations could come up with.

Will we soon see a People's Champion? Maybe the winner of Hatton Castillo?

If Mayweather beats Oscar will he go one better than Kessler's 'super' championship status and maybe become an 'Immortal' champion?

I was thinking it would be nice to have seasonal titles as well, maybe a 'Christmas' Champion or possibly in order to attract a larger female audience maybe a 'Most Handsome' world champion?

Anyways these are just my random thoughts, feel free to add your own ideas for new championship belts that unknown roadsweep fighters can win and wannabe p4p stars can win and immediately vacate. :P

Heres a novel idea, let the public know how they go about ranking their fighters....I have no idea how some of these guys get ranked as high as they do. Seems like a bunch of crap to keep the promoters happy, being champ today is not really saying much. When was the last time there was a unified heavyweight champ, seems like forever. People ditching belts left and right to fight non mandatory fights...it really hurts the credibility of boxing.

I think the rankings are based on which boxers pay the most sanctioning fee's and that isn't even a joke. If you pay more you get a higher ranking. If you are an exciting fighter and can earn the organistation more money they will rank you even higher.

I'm not sure that their is any system beyond that.

and if you dont bother to pay at all, they wont recognize you .

ala zab judah after baldo beat him last year. baldo didnt bother to pay his ibf sanctioning fee and beat zab, but the ibf said zab was still champ afterwards

good way to establish credibility to your sanctioning body's reputation

we could have a "champion of hype" belt.

long time reigning champion antonio margarito was dethroned a short while ago after putting on a mediocre performance against joshua clottey.

but as luck would have it, we found our next "champion of hype" on the very same card...............

miguel cotto made an average fighter in carlos quintana look very bad. so as soon as the fight was over, bob arum ran over to margarito, told him "better luck next time" snatched away the journeymans hard earned belt and announced miguel cotto as the reigning, undisputed world champion of unneccessary hype

Hahahaa are you serious about the Super thing? No longer are we going to be calling of the IBF, WBC, WBA and WBO belts into 1, we will be calling for just the unification of the WBA belts.
