Default Mormeck v Bell ((Contains result))

    http://www.fightnews.com/boxing/bc/1437.htm

Bell prowled the dressing room hallways looking for Mormeck after the fight, and he stormed into the post-fight press conference with his anger festering while he waited for the Frenchman to arrive.

After Mormeck commented on the fight, he responded to a reporter's question by saying, "I don't like O'Neil Bell." Before the translator could say, "but I do have tremendous respect for him as a fighter," Bell rushed toward Mormeck and a brief melee broke out that promoter Don King would later characterize as "deplorable after such a great match took place."

The victor was understandingly more positive in his comments.

"Bell was in good shape," Mormeck said. "He always has surprises for me and tonight was no different. He was still standing after 12 rounds.

"I do not respect him as a person but I do have tremendous respect for him as a fighter."

The only complaint I have about this fight is when the ref broke them up he seemed to push Bell far away and hold him there for too long.  Mormeck was standing pretty much in the same spot and Bell was being whisked away too no mans land.

Also, the open scoring allowed Mormeck to do a lot of the classic look-back-over-my-shoulder-while-I- circle-away crap.  He look like a pissed off little kid who was taking his ball and going home.

I can name a 100 fighters who have done the same hit and run tactics in the past and that do it presently without the open scoring...

Mormeck was tired and boxing....It was hot as all S*** in there.....Mormeck also was fighting during that time throwing combos before getting out of there....He didn't even have to do that he could have made it real sloppy and lost the last 4 rds and still won...Just as you can say Mormeck used the open scoring to his advantage so could have Bell...Bell could have felt the urgency and went in for the kill...

IMO Mormeck deserved the win...He was in the best shape of his life...In the past he has faded in those rds in regular conditions this time he pulled himself through in horrible heat and fought...Bell lost that is all there is to it...Open scoring had nothing to do with it

you know I was interested in if Mormeck was going to try to jump to HW, but after last night with his conditioning issues plus the fact that he gets hit way too much he definately needs to stay at cruiser where there are plenty of good matchups

Besides that if you look at him he isn't that big of a guy...He has a lot of muscle mass making appear larger than what he is..

Bell DID go for the kill and he looked about to faint after the 5th round when Mormeck was coming on strong, let's have a third fight

And put it on the undercard of Barerra Marquez 2

Bell vs. Mormeck was a god scrap but IMO, Pons vs. Canclaux stole the show what a cracking fight that was....
