And NO WAY was MAB winning the first 6 rounds easily. No way,to give him the benfit of the doubt for all 6 of the first rounds, which were nearly alllllll close, look at the punch stats first and second I think JMM's power shots, which he far far outlanded MAB had more of an effect than MAB's jabs. JMM's combinations were simply awesome.
But Marquez landed most of those extra power shots in the 7th and 10th rounds. Rounds which he won clearly so no disputes there. The final punch stats are misleading. Boxing is judged on a round by round basis, so its irrelevant if Marquez wins a round by landing 4 extra power shots or instead an extra 20 thrown in for good measure. The punch stats tell a different story as to how the fight played out and should indeed be judged.

Mick is probably right, this thread is going to keep creeping up!

How many more power shots did JMM land than MAB? Wasn't it like 70 plus more? Although he landed quite a few in the rounds you mentioned,,he was taking more control towards the end of the fight. JMM was the effective aggressor.JMM dictated the action, and JMM's combinations and power punching were more effective than MAB's.

Amd the same couild be said of MAB's jab,he landed it alot at the beginning, not towards the end. I just feel AMb did not know what to do. He wanted to war at first but I think he realised Marquez would not be beaten that way so he tried to box, then Marquez cut off the ring and started launching awesome combinations. The left hook right hand combo was doing MAB all night.
