    Default Defensive Messiah?

    Defensive Messiah?

A lot has been said about Cotto getting put on Queer Blvd and Stomping Cockroach Ave by DeMarcus Corley. Mostly the PBF fan boys throw that out there when ever they can.
Why don't they mention how Corley had PBF in trouble? They talk about how great Floyd's defense is. He was getting taxed by Corley

    Enjoy the show.

This is the clown that says he is better than Sugar Ray Leonard?

    Please.

He got caught by one shot on the ropes, recovered and went on to win the round...

I do think Floyd is saying the whole 'im better then SRL' stuff in a bit off a cheeky way to create contraversey and that kinda thing. IMO SRL is the greater boxer all day long.

Having said that, Floyd defence overall is stunning, and he is the best p4p in the world atm. No question about it for me.

floyd is an awesome boxer and a vid can be made like that for any fighter. floyd would still look good in a vid made entirely of his worsed bits. but i always argue it that to beat him a fighter is gonna have to really take the fight to him. oscar will have to apply the pressure to beat him and thats why hatton would beat him.

Danny, your Corley highlight reel seems to mysteriously end around the 4th round. Did your computer crash? Or is it because Corley didn't land anything from Round 5 on?

The funny thing about this video is that it seems to be missing something...the decisive win that Floyd scored over Corley...not some home cooked decision from a judge as biased as the poster that presented this video.

    Cheers Danny...youv'e done yourself proud.

    No it was two shots

And he hurt Floyd twice in this fight.

Anyway, Cotto was Hurt once and had no ropes to save him. He hung on.
So why do the people from the Floridian Cult Compound make such a fuss? Floyd was saved by the ropes Cotto was saved by stopping a bug on the ground and hugging on to Corley.

Floyd's defense is whack and his chin is suspect.

I remember not too long ago even Zab Judah was getting the best of Floyd. LMAO

Oscar is going to dismantle this kid.

    Oh happy days.

You know Cotto was demolishing Corley. Had that boy on his knees beggin please. He was saved. Corley was falling apart. The wind in Cotto's blows was making Corley drop to his knees. What your boy does in 12 Cotto can do in 5.

    Speaking of 5?

Cinco de Mayo is coming. Hope you'all have your crying towels.

Judah getting the best of Floyd? You mean when Floyd was sizing Judah up? Mayweather was in park for the first 3 and a half rounds of that fight and once he slipped it into 1st gear Judah was DONE.

Come on man the Mayweather hating is ridiculous. If you think Cotto or De La Hoya is going to get the best of him then fine, but don't show some clip from years ago where he got hit by umm, 2 shots? I'll give that to you. Floyd got hit twice I personally think Floyd will have a tough time vs DLH but him getting caught by Chop Chop when he was clowning around on the ropes proves....nothing.

    CC for this thread Danny.

I have to say, despite the fact that I'm one of the biggest Floyd fans here, I always enjoy reading Danny G's anti-Floyd propaganda.

In my book, it's OK to bash any fighter, as long as you put effort into it. Danny is passionate about his hatred of Floyd.
I'll read these threads anyday instead of the people who just post, "Floyd sucks" and nothing else.

The problems with your opinions are that they are so far out in left field that they don't come close to being hits but more swings & misses. You talk about Floyd being stretched & having all these issues when it's Cotto that was stumbly bumbly against Corley & quite a few others more times than once.

Floyd has faced the same & better fighters & has not had near the amount of scares as Cotto...you just can't see past your hate to admit it.

Win, lose, or draw...unlike you...if it's a fight...I'll be happy as hell with the end result.

The fact of the matter is...no matter who it is in the ring with Floyd & no matter what they do...they pretty much all get defeated but if Floyd beats Oscar...I can honestly say that I will be shocked.

The only way that I will be disappointed is if it's a shit decision.

Cotto has been dropped & legit. Not some glove touching the mat.

Floyd's defense is twice that of Cotto's...as is his chin.

You remember Zab giving Floyd 4 maybe 5 good rounds & then getting his ass handed to him after acting like a total idiot...as usual.

Judah will be Cotto's toughest fight if he shows up on point.

I wonder...what will you say if Judah defeats Cotto or even stops him?

Personally...I'd be totally disgusted...but I wouldn't be surprised. Speed & power will be the foil of Cotto...these are two things that Judah possesses in piles...here's hoping that Judah's head aint screwed on tight.

    Yeah he did beat Corley.

It was a nice win at the time because it was a step up for Cotto and you can not deny that Cotto struggled mightily. But that was a younger greener Cotto who let Corley's jab give him problems. Meanwhile that was just a staybusy fight for Mayweather, just to see how he felt at 140 and he dominated. Got caught with two shots. 3 years ago that happened. Does it matter?

Early in the clip, he shows a combo that Corley threw with 1:33 left in the 1st round, and Floyd blocked all the punches with his gloves. If you're gonna make a clip like this, at least pick the punches that landed

Danny, would you be up for a bet? Something along the lines of.... if Floyd beats Oscar, you need to get rid of your Cotto pic and replace it with a Floyd pic that we'll choose? And then for your text under the photo, you'll have to put "Defensive Messiah."

Look...I aint saying that he didn't win the fight...but that was the biggest bullshit call I have ever seen & to compare the Cotto win to the Floyd win is laughable.

Honestly...to compare anything Cotto does in reference to him surpassing Floyd is hillarious unless you compare the power factor...which Cotto completely controls.

My whole issue here is that while most can recognize & appreciate Cotto for what he is & does...the same can not be applied to Floyd by his detractors.

It's just short sightedness coming from a boxing fan's POV.

Nothing wrong with having favorites...but talent is talent & both fighters should be recognized for their strong points...then again...everyone's entitled to an opinion...but come on...let's be reasonable...something that never appears to be factored into these one sided arguements/discussions.
