RJJ is criticized because he made great fighters look average.plain and simple. He was TOO good for his own good. And most of the guys mentioned whom RJJ did not fight, you have to ask yourself, was it RJJ that did not fight them OR did they choose not to fight him? And some,Eubank for example, openly admitted that he did not think he could beat RJJ(I think it was in his autobiography),so knowing that,I HIGHLY doubt he ever actually wanted to fight him.

And in beating James Toney and B Hop,RJJ arguably beat 2 opponents who have far far greater legacies than anyone he did not face. Plain and simple,RJJ was,at his a prime,a superman,a genetic freak blessed with every PHYSICAL attribute a fighter could want.

#1476 Agreed on all things except last statement... If you are speaky physically yes!!!! But as far as Fundamentals, Technique, Hell NO!!! Not being picky mind you, but with Roy you find greatness in alot of ways, but Imagine a Roy that worked on boxing basics and sound defense... He would still be flourishing today as we speak without the Tarver and Johnson situations But good solid points Gamo

Life doesn't work like that (not that I have a clue about life, of course )

Change anything about Roy Jones and we might not even "know" him

His natural talent, uniqueness, training, work, upbringing is what made him who he is. Change any of that and you have a completely different person.
