i wouldnt go as far as a great chin mind you....his style of boxing prevented him from being hit but when he did get clean punched he melted,,,plus look at when he fought men his own size ie klitko,,,,he didnt look that good....poor chin id say
You should do your homework and watch the fight between him and Ray Mercer. Lewis took a beating in that fight and his face was all messed up at the end. I thought Mercer clearly won the fight, but Lewis showed that he could take a good punch. As for his power: ask Vitali when he was hanging on for dear life after Lewis caught him with a monster uppercut. There are VERY FEW that would have still been standing after that punch.

Evander was hurt by Lewis. He seemed to beat Morrison down pretty easily. I haven't seen the Jackson fight, and I know Tyson got KTFO by the right hand. In the Mercer fight I agree that Lewis' face was a little swollen, but not all that bad. I had Lewis beating Mercer, maybe you are just anti-Lewis.

Don't be silly. I have the fight on DVD and watched it many times. Mercer won that fight. I think that Lewis was a great champion, but he reached his prime late.

I think Mercer won that fight also.. Mercer was up buy several rounds. but in my opinion Lewis was never better then when he beat Donovan Ruddock.. Lewis weighed in at 227 at 6"5 .. He we was in great shape, excellent hands speed, good leverage on his shots.. he fought with determination and fire at that point. After that he put on all that weight which just cemented him into the ground and slowed him substantially. Lennox was never the same fighter after that. He would have been a fire cracker had he stayed trim .

I agev that fight to Lewis . It was a close fight but Mercer plodded for too long . Lewis was able to get off with combos and when he was in the trenches , he beat Mercer at his own game

Lewis had a lot of power in that right hand. I think at the end of his career (just an personal opinion) he was showing an increasing confidence that made him more destructive when he landed that straight right.

Ask Mike Tyson, Rahman, Razor Ruddock or Shannon Briggs. He just wasnt wild and didnt want to take a lotta chances.
