It was really an already good fighter maturing in that second Toney fight. Wlad improved when he beat Peter and Peter did the same versus Toney.

And Vitali isn't a shoe in to beat anyone much less the second best fighter in the division. And the fact is Peter has earned his shot and Vitali hasn't. If it was 2 years ago he would have but right now he has to start from scratch.
And as far as Vitali getting the shot I just don't understand the point people are trying to make that he hasn't earned the shot!He was the title holder when he was forced into retirement due to injury right?Did the WBC not grant him the right to an imediate title fight if he came back?Rules are rules I could care less about Peter's feelings on it and if he want's to whine about only getting 3.5million for sitting on his back side I hardly feel sorry for him.
Injury or no injury he hasn't been in the ring since 2004. I really don't care about the WBC' rules, just because those are the rules doesn't mean he earned it. I mean maybe by the WBC rulebook he did but it's pretty much universally agreed on that these sanctioning bodies are a joke and the rule is to.

That being said, I would rather see Peter chase another fight now because this is going to be dragged on for a long time and the WBC belt just isn't worth it. I would rather see him cut his losses now.
