lots of people start to box older than that.
some even turned pro

age is a number
the day you are good enough is the day you start your career as pro.
the day you aint good enough ANYMORE is the day you retire.
and if you did not start your pro career before that day....well then it's to late mate

dam my mom wont let me start boxing but i train at home with my moms boyfriend as my sparing patner but if i cant o to the gym then i go turn amature and stuff but she says wen i mogve out i can start lo but ill props ask her wen im 16 coz im 14 now so ill ask her agian wen im 16 but i think i will be to old to start boxing in a gym wen i move out will probs be about 22-23

The maximum age for amateur boxers in open class is 35 years of age.

Thats when you are to old for open competition, I know its not exactly what you want, but in theory you could start boxing at 25 and have an amateur career of 10 years, in short, you are not, nor will not be too old.

i just hope my mum will let me join a boxing gym when im 16 then coz at the mo im just traning at home and stuff and thers no hope of turning amature if i do that coz i need to join a gym to do it

i just want to be able to fight in the ring every now and then
like 1nc a month or sumthing so would that matter if i start boxing in the gym wen im about 22?
