I just think its a huge jump up in class from Earl to Katsidis . Remember the Aussie was on the floor in that one so I think he's in trouble here
EM = Erik Morales
I know Katsidis was on his a** against Earl and rocked in a few spots, but even Graham Earl was a step up for Katsidis in that stage and he coped pretty well, I'd liken it to Hatton getting put down and rocked again a round later by Eamon Magee, or Cotto getting nailed by Torres, it usually happens to upstart world class contenders. I think Katsidis size and power will always give him a chance against Guzman, potentially he could be one of the best.
Thats what I thought but Erik isnt retired . He is fighting David Diaz for the WBC lightweight title in his next fight .

Hatton and Cotto are alot easier to hit than Guzman . Joan has a defence rivalled only by Pretty Boy Floyd . His reflexes are superb and I dont think Katsidis will land a glove on him . I could be wrong but it took several flush shots to finish Earl and Earls defence is pi*s poor . Guzman wont take that many and when he does he can absorb them
Cheers for that, great news .
As for Guzman having the best defence other than floyd, thats arguble, I've seen Guzman eat clean punches in a few of his fights, particularly the Barrios fight he got caught a few times which garnered one of the best responses I've ever seen in a ring, he was so pissed off that he got hit that he put on a really mean face and clocked Barrios with a big combo (2nd round I think). I think Guzman is the full package, and I think he'll be able to fight at lightweight no problem, and I think in the next few years he could rise to P4P status, but... Katsidis is also untested and clearly capable of finishing off anyone if he gets the chance, he has tremendous power, and is still learning how to use it, he could be the hardest puncher Guzman has ever faced.
